KITCHEN TIPS
How to Revive Limp Lettuce ( Thanks to Women’s World Magazine)

Don’t throw away limp lettuce.  Just remove the core, then immerse the head in a bowl of cold water with the juice of half a lemon and refrigerate for an hour.  This creates a chemical reaction that makes the little veins in the leaves re-absorb water and transport in throughout the lettuce, restoring the crisp texture!

How to Soften Hard Brown Sugar ( Thanks to Women’s World Magazine)

Just put a slice of apple in with the brown sugar and seal it in an airtight container.  The apple gives off moisture and ethylene gas that makes the brown sugar soft again!
