One of two men accused of murder in the death of Jamie Wylie has been charged with witness tampering, accused of passing a note to a fellow jail inmate seeking help beating up witnesses. 26-year old Travis Michael McKinney is charged with two counts each of attempted aggravated first-degree witness tampering and attempted first-degree witness tampering. The note he allegedly passed to the inmate said that McKinney only wanted a “broken bone or 4” for the people whose names he wrote. “I still want them to show up to testify,” McKinney is accused of writing. McKinney in scheduled to stand trial August 10th in Benton County on charges of first- and second-degree murder, being a felon in possession of a firearm and interfering with a dead body. A grand jury indicted him, accusing him of shooting Wylie in December 2013. The Foley man was missing for several months before his body was found in March 2014 behind an east St. Cloud business. The grand jury also indicted 25-year old Joshua Lee Smith on charges of aiding and abetting first- and second-degree murder. Smith is accused of driving the vehicle that took Wylie, McKinney and a fourth man to the area where the shooting occurred.
