EU may approve glyphosate for another 15 years

Experts from the 28 member states of the EU are holding a closed-door meeting in Brussels next week to consider a European Commission proposal to extend authorization of the use of glyphosate for the next 15 years and there are indications it will be approved. The EFSA study focused on glyphosate as a single active substance. Should the product be reauthorized at the EU level, each member country will be able to grant or refuse authorization of products that contain it at the national level.
