Soybean export inspections on pace to meet projections

The USDA reports soybean export inspections as of the week ending April 21st remain on pace to meet projections for the current marketing year. Wheat came out at 406,164 tons, down 52,301 from the week ending April 14th and 147,064 lower than the week ending April 23rd, 2015. For the 2015/16 marketing year to date, wheat inspections are 18,021,686 tons, compared to 20,768,024 in 2014/15. Corn was reported at 1,136,995 tons, 36,217 more than the previous week, but 233,610 less than this time last year. So far this marketing year, corn inspections are 23,021,139 tons, compared to 26,612,509 a year ago. Soybeans were pegged at 279,310 tons, 10,998 above the week before, but 32,556 below last year. At this point in the marketing year, soybean inspections are 42,580,759 tons, compared to 45,802,758 a year ago. Sorghum inspections totaled 166,254 tons. That’s a decrease of 29,255 tons on the week, but an increase of 5,520 on the year. 2015/16 sorghum inspections are 6,601,313 tons, compared to 6,501,585 in 2014/15.
