--Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larsen was on KLTF on Friday morning. The Sheriff is asking motorists to continue to slow down and expect slower traffic in bad weather. They had a number of calls again last week of spinouts, cars and trucks in the ditch and service calls due to the snow and ice. Use caution in bad weather and be smart of traveling in those type of conditions if you have to at all. He mentioned communication is important when it comes to drugs in the county. The Sheriff's Office had an overdose at the jail where five inmates had to be revived with NARCAN. A body scanner has been requested to the county board due to that issue. The Coffee with the Cop events and other community interaction is so important to get the information, hear from the community and work together to stop the drug use, and especially dangerous drug overdoses from fentynyl in the county. Crime has been up around the state and locally there have been some reports of burglary and theft and they continue to investigate but remind homeowners and others to make sure to lock up houses and items as in many cases burglars have gone into open sheds and outbuildings and even houses left unlocked. Since March 1st the sheriff's office has received called on scams including a Little Falls resident who lost over $1,200 in a reported scam. Sheriff Larsen reminds those to be use caution with email items, phone calls and mailings that may seem too good to be true and likely area, if you receive a call and not sure of it, hang up. If a bank, social security, insurance company etc calls you and wants financial information for you this is mostly likely a scam. Never give out that information unless you initiated the contact with the person. Scammers are getting unfortunately smarter and quicker at getting information that can cause more problems for you the caller or email victim. If you believe there a scam going around, contact they sheriff's office and they can send out info to help the public on this. The Sheriff continues to send out information on the Terry Brisk Murder Case from 2016. They meet with the BCA regularly and later this month hopefully will get more technology breakthroughs to help in the investigation. --A Level 3 Predatory offender is moving into Foley. The Benton County Sheriff's Office says 30-year old Brent Rahm will be moving into rural Alberta Township, north of Foley on Thursday. Authorities say Rahm has a history of engaging in sexual conduct with teenage girls he's met online. Rahm has served his sentenced and is not wanted by police. A community notification meeting will be held on Wednesday at Foley High School starting at 6:30pm. Representatives from the Minnesota Department of Corrections and Benton County Sheriff's Office will provide information and answer any questions.
--The Pierz City Council meets tonight at 7pm at Pierz City Hall. They are expected to make the appointment for the new City Council member from last week's interviews. Make resolutions on the DNR grants to the city of Pierz and discuss and vote on other applications, land use permits and trail dedications at the meeting.
--Knight of Columbus Breakfasts are planned this Sunday at both churches in Sobieski and Bowlus for free will offerings.
--A 23-year-old from Hollandale, Wisconsin was injured Friday just after 6:30pm on Highway 10 in Cushing Township. Jonathon Scott was eastbound on Highway 10 at 60th Avenue when he struck a deer crossing the Highway causing his vehicle to roll. Scott was taken to the Little Falls Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
--A 25-year-old from Fort Ripley was injured Friday around 4:30pm on Highway 371 and 50th Avenue in Crow Wing Township. 28-year-old Tate Sherman of Becker was turning from 50th Avenue crossing the northbound lane and T-boned a vehicle driven by Jordan Jarmuzek. Jarmuzek was taken to the Brainerd hospital and treated for injuries. The State Patrol said that the other driver was not injured.
--Heavy wet snow Saturday led to a number of accidents on roadways. Most of central Minnesota reported 4-8 inches of wet snow with heavy drifting. Dozens of accidents including, a one vehicle accident in Todd County near West Union that injured a child who was a passenger in a vehicle, a semi-driver was injured south of St. Cloud when he struck the ditch and another chain reaction accident clogged up Interstate 94 near Albertville Saturday. In all none of the injuries were reported serious in nature.
--With the heavy snow and warmer temps recently the Department of Natural Resources and The National Weather Service are stating the chances of spring flooding in Minnesota is now well above average especially lakes and rivers in the southern two-thirds of the state where more snowfall has fallen and with warmer temps next week in the 40s and even warmer in southwestern Minnesota the chances for flooding is becoming higher. Not only lakes and rivers, but street flooding will be an issue with melting snow and some drains still clogged from the heavy snow drifts over the past weeks. The expect the flooding to be a factor in the next few weeks into late March and early April if more moisture stays in the forecast, right now it does.
--The Little Falls School Board meets today at 5pm at the Middle School Media Center. Also tonight is the massed band concert at the Little Falls Community High School at 7pm. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for students. If you bring a non perishable food item to the event for the food shelf get $1 off for each of the items you bring.

BUD= Longtime Minnesota Vikings Head Coach Bud Grant has died. Grant took the Vikings to their 4 Super Bowls that they were in. Grant was a major outdoor activist in his later years. He was 95 years old.
NFL= The Minnesota Vikings continue to clean house after releasing Linebacker Eric Kendricks last week, longtime wide-receiver and Minnesota native Adam Thielen has been given his release from the team last Friday. The Detroit Lakes High School graduate has been a major part of the Vikings lineup for the past 9 seasons.
HS BHK= Mahtomedi beat Warroad for the Class A title and Minnetonka took the AA title over Edina Saturday for boys hockey. Hermantown and Andover were 3rd place winners, Cathedral beat Alexandria 4-1 for Consolation, Hill Murray won that in Class AA.
