Governor Dayton and majority House Republicans stated Monday they have reached a tentative deal on education funding, which was one of the of large unresolved pieces of the state budget fight that has pushed Minnesota to a potential government shutdown at the end of the month. Some details on the school plan and other items must still be resolved before the governor will call a special session but the progress should hope to give some comfort on the nearly 10,000 workers whom would be laid off if the state government shuts down effective July 1st if no legislative agreement is reached.
