87% of US soybeans, 75% of corn harvested

This year’s U.S. corn and soybean harvests are getting closer to wrapping up. From planting, to development, to harvest, this year’s production has varied widely, depending on weather. As of Sunday, 75% of this year’s corn crop is harvested, matching the five year average pace. Three states in the Southeastern Cornbelt are above 95% complete, while Michigan, Minnesota, the Dakotas, Nebraska, and Wisconsin are behind average. 87% of soybeans are harvested, compared to 85% typically this time of year. Louisiana, Minnesota, and the Dakotas are at or ahead of 95%, while Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, and Nebraska are behind normal. 86% of winter wheat is planted, a little slower than normal, and 70% has emerged, a little faster than average. 58% of this year’s winter wheat is in good to excellent shape, down 1% on the week. 44% of U.S. pastures and rangelands are called good to excellent, 1% lower than a week ago.
