The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office received a call in regards to an active Anhydrous Ammonia leak from a tanker Monday around 7:00pm in Eden Lake Township. It was determined that a broken seal caused the 6,000 pound tank to begin to leak. Due to the lack of wind, the gas stayed in the area and did not dissipate well. Several people, including a Stearns County Deputy, were exposed to the gas. They were treated at the St. Cloud Hospital for the exposure. The Eden Valley Fire Department was able to get the leak under control, and the spill contained.
