Authorities have identified a woman found dead Sunday on the ice of the Mississippi River as 21-year-old Hannah Pauline Udvig of St. Cloud. The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office said preliminary investigation leads deputies to believe Udvig fell or jumped from the bridge, and preliminary results of an autopsy show she died from injuries consistent with a fall. A person walking on the Granite City Crossing Bridge called police to report a body on the ice around 12:20pm Sunday. During the investigation of Udvig’s death, a man’s body was found on the shore of the river. St. Cloud Police are investigating that death, and said the man appears to have been dead for a substantial amount of time. Police said Tuesday they did not know when they would be able to release the identity of the dead man. Authorities said Monday the two deaths do not appear to be related. The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office wants to speak with anyone who was on or near the Granite City Crossing Bridge around 1:00am on Sunday. Members of the public can call 320-251-4240 and ask to speak with an investigator.
