The Benton County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a St. Cloud man in connection with a vehicle reported stolen earlier last week in Sartell. Deputies responded to a wooded area in Langola Township, northeast of Rice, around 11:15am Thursday morning on a report of a suspicious vehicle with an occupant inside. Deputies found 34-year-old Touy Souvannaphong in the car. Souvannaphong told deputies that he had been in the vehicle parked in the woods for several days. A registration check on the car uncovered the it was reported missing from Sartell. Souvannaphong was arrested and taken to the St. Cloud Hospital for a medical evaluation before taken to the Benton County Jail. Souvannaphong could be charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He is currently awaiting his first court appearance.
