The Black Lives Matter protest outside the Minnesota State Fair on Saturday didn’t seem to stop many people from attending the festivities. Fair officials say Aug. 29th was the third largest opening Saturday in history. More than 188,000 people filed through the fair gates on Saturday — 10,000 more than last year. The record attendance for the opening Saturday of the fair is more than 202,000 people, set in 1998. Hundreds showed up at Hamline Park in Saint Paul on Saturday to be part of what Black Lives Matter St. Paul called Black Fair. The protest lasted for a few hours. No arrests or injuries.
