The Camp Ripley Fire Department and Range Control Office will conduct a controlled burn now through March 15th throughout the days and nights in order to reduce brush piles in the training area. Vegetation that has collected since before winter has been piled and will be burnt off to reduce any hazards that may occur once the winter season is over. During this time period the surrounding areas of Camp Ripley can expect to see and smell smoke.  All burn piles are controlled and are within safety regulations due to the amount of snow that is on the ground. The team will work to maintain control of the burn pile smoke by paying attention to wind direction and speed. Questions concerning the burns may be addresses to the Camp Ripley Public Affairs Office at 320-616-3122.
