Crosslake Police Department responds to crash Sunday on Crow Wing County Highway 3 south of Shafer Road

The Crosslake Police Department responded to a crash at 7:25pm Sunday on Crow Wing County Highway 3 south of Shafer Road. 77-year-old Lawrence Bourassa of Merrifield was driving north on County Highway 3 when he crossed the centerline into the path of oncoming traffic. 49-year-old Rodney Orth of Pine River was driving a pickup pulling a trailer, swerved to the right to avoid a head-on collision. Bourassa’s vehicle struck the front portion of the trailer about 3-4 feet over the centerline of the northbound lane. Bourassa and his passenger, 77-year-old Patricia Bourassa were taken by ambulance to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center for minor injuries. Orth and his passenger, 26-year-old Zachary Gaetz of Brainerd, did not suffer any injuries.
