Governor Mark Dayton announced Thursday that Minnesotans will be able to fish for walleye on Mille Lacs Lake this winter. The governor said he has ordered the DNR to establish an ice fishing season. The DNR is studying the lake later this month to determine the sizes, number and ages of walleye to make plans for future fishing seasons. When completed they will give the governor their plan for upcoming walleye seasons on the lake and if there will be any term or limit changes after December 1st.
