The USDA reports export inspections of corn, soybeans, and wheat were more than what’s needed to meet projections for the current marketing year. Wheat came out at 432,859 tons, down 229,744 from the week ending September 29th, but up 109,949 from the week ending October 8th, 2015. At this point in the 2016/17 marketing year, wheat inspections are 10,572,314 tons, compared to 8,355,825 in 2015/16. Corn was reported at 1,131,707 tons, 353,569 lower than the previous week, but 526,938 higher than this time last year. So far this marketing year, corn inspections are 6,905,899 tons, compared to 3,856,929 a year ago. Soybeans were pegged at 1,801,074 tons, 691,514 above the week before, but 95,127 below last year. For the marketing year to date, soybean inspections are 5,204,688 tons, compared to 4,395,507 a year ago.
