The USDA reports corn, soybean, and wheat export inspections for the week ending December 22nd were more than what’s needed to meet projections for the 2016/17 marketing year. Wheat came out at 520,975 tons, up 37,168 from the week ending December 15th and 209,990 higher than the week ending December 24th, 2015. For the 2016/17 marketing year to date, wheat inspections are 15,111,595 tons, compared to 11,802,775 in 2015/16. Corn was reported at 970,506 tons, 165,265 more than the previous week and 394,805 above this time last year. So far this marketing year, corn inspections are 16,399,308 tons, compared to 9,125,610 a year ago. Soybeans were pegged at 1,710,188 tons, a decrease of 31,515 from the week before, but an increase of 217,920 from last year. At this point in the marketing year, soybean inspections are 31,376,361 tons, compared to 26,313,035 a year ago.
