Late U.S. corn and soybean development is ahead of average, but harvest rates are a little slower than normal with late week rainfall in some growing areas. Crop conditions, development rates, and harvest progress varies widely around the Midwest. Nationally, 93% of corn has dented and 53% has reached maturity, both ahead of their respective five year averages. 9% of corn is harvested, compared to 12% typically this time of year, and the crop condition rating held at 74% good to excellent. 46% of soybeans are dropping leaves, slightly faster than normal, and 4% is harvested, a little bit slower than average. 73% of U.S. soybeans are in good to excellent shape, unchanged on the week. 98% of spring wheat is harvested, compared to 93% on average, and 17% of winter wheat is planted, compared to 16% normally. 51% U.S. pastures and rangelands are called good to excellent, 2% less than last week, but 5% more than this time last year.
