Two renters are without a place to stay after a morning fire Sunday in Pequot Lakes. About 30 firefighters from Pequot Lakes, Nisswa, Pine River and Ideal Township battled the blaze in bitterly cold conditions Sunday around 8:30am on Honeysuckle Street. The fire destroyed the manufactured home that Jeffrey King and Renee Hines were renting. Firefighters stated that a portable heater may be to blame for the fire but the exact cause was under investigation. Some of the firefighters had to be treated for the cold conditions but there were no injuries.
