Residents of Buckman were advised late Wednesday night of a fugitive with multiple felony warrants in the area, armed with a gun and making threatening comments at a residence on 93rd Street. The Sheriff’s Department received a report around 10:10pm Wednesday of an unwanted subject, identified as 26-year-old Mark Flores, who was allegedly very agitated and inside a residence with a long gun. A check of Flores’ criminal record found he had multiple felony warrants and is a fugitive of justice from Texas. The Morrison County SWAT team responded to the scene as local residents were instructed to secure their homes. Over a period of three hours, SWAT team members attempted multiple times to call Flores out of the home. When Flores did not comply, the SWAT team entered the residence with the assistance of a Morrison County K-9 team. Flores was located and apprehended by a K9 in an upstairs crawl space, but continued to disobey officer commands, at which point law enforcement deployed a taser. Flores was taken to the hospital for injuries inflicted by the police dog. Once released from the hospital, Flores will be held in jail pending extradition to Texas on his outstanding felony warrant charges. The suspect has been apprehended and the area is safe.
