About 40 firefighters responded to a garage fire near Nisswa Friday morning. Firefighters from Brainerd, Nisswa, Pequot Lakes and the DNR arrived just after 2:30am and aided in helping put out the blaze that destroyed the garage, scorched an acre of land around and several trees. The house nearby was threatened by smoke and flames but did not catch fire. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire was undetermined.
