A generator running to close to a garage is to blame for a structure fire Thursday afternoon in Nisswa. Firefighters arrived around 4:00pm on Bittersweet Lane and found the generator had burned a basketball sized hole into the garage and caused a small fire to reach the house. The fire department extinguished the fire within 15 minutes and ventilated the home and garage from the smoke. A damage estimate was unclear as the home had also been damaged from the severe storms that affected the area back on July 12th.
