Human remains found in Douglas County confirmed as Laura Schwendemann

The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office Friday confirmed the human remains found in a Douglas County field is that of Laura Schwendemann. The cause and manner of death is still pending. Schwendemann was reported missing October 14th after leaving a gas station with a man. The remains were found a week ago Sunday in a township farmstead. Authorities did question a man about the disappearance but at this time no arrests have been made.
