A reminder from the Minnesota State Patrol, Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larson and area police departments that with the Labor Day holiday weekend here, more traffic is expected on roadways. Give yourself extra time, please refrain from using cell phones and other items that cause distracted driving when driving on area roads and please watch for pedestrians and bicyclists this weekend. More than 400 law enforcement agencies are still out watching for speeders and impaired drivers through Labor Day. On Tuesday most schools begin the year. Some schools have already begun and some students begin later next week, but most will return to class and buses will be out early morning and mid to late afternoon with students on Tuesday. Remember that you must stop for stop arms of a school bus when the red lights are flashing and stop arm is extended. Sheriff Larson stated we all need to work together to keep the county a safe one.
