The Benton County Sheriff’s reported that the man who fled authorities Tuesday was apprehended that night. Authorities have arrested 36-year old Jeffrey Williams of Princeton. Just before 1:00pm on Tuesday a Minnesota State Patrol trooper located a lavender pickup being driven by Williams, who had outstanding felony warrants, on Hwy 25 north of Hwy 95. The trooper attempted to stop the vehicle and Williams responded by exiting the vehicle and fleeing into a nearby cornfield. The area was searched for several hours by officers, two K-9 units, and a State Patrol helicopter; however the suspect was not located. At about 6:35pm a resident on 125th Ave NE called to report they believed the suspect from the earlier search was now at their residence. Benton County deputies, Minnesota State Patrol troopers, and Foley Police responded to the area and began searching for Williams again. The Benton County Sheriff’s K-9 unit was deployed and successfully tracked the suspect to a wooded area where he was found trying to hide in a tree. Williams was arrested without incident and is currently being held in the Benton County Jail on his outstanding felony warrants. Additional charges for fleeing law enforcement are pending at this time.
