Travis McKinney pleaded guilty Tuesday to aiding an offender in the shooting death of Jamie Wylie of Foley. Last week, 25-year old Joshua Lee Smith, pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting intentional second-degree murder. Court records and statements from prosecutors previously indicated that investigators believed Travis Michael McKinney had shot Wylie. Miller said McKinney’s factual basis for the plea was that he knew Josh Smith murdered Wylie, and that McKinney concealed the evidence by removing the body from the scene of the death. Sentencing for aiding an offender falls under the same sentencing guidelines for third-degree murder.
