Minnesota Agriculture Commissioner Dave Frederickson has named Santo Cruz to serve as an assistant commissioner for the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA). Cruz has served as the MDA’s Legislative Director for the past two years. Cruz, a native of Melrose, MN, will oversee the MDA’s Agricultural Marketing and Development Division and the Plant Protection Division. He will also act as General Counsel for the agency. Frederickson has also named Andrea Vaubel as Cruz’s replacement. Vaubel has worked in the Commissioner’s office since January of 2013. Prior to that, she worked for Congressman Tim Walz both in his Washington, DC and Mankato offices.
