The Minnesota Department of Health, Minnesota Department of Agriculture, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Food and Drug Administration and other states are investigating a salmonella outbreak connected to cucumbers. The investigation implicates “slicer,” or American cucumbers supplied by Andrew & Williamson Fresh Produce (San Diego) as a source of the outbreak, according to the Minnesota Department of Health. Andrew & Williamson has voluntarily recalled these cucumbers. Twelve cases have been identified as part of the national outbreak in Minnesota, according to the health department. Six were hospitalized; all are recovering, according to the health department.
