The Minnesota National Guard is hosting “Power of One Fun Runs” during suicide prevention awareness week to regain the military community’s attention to preventing suicide. More than 500 soldiers are expect at two events; on Saturday at 2:00pm at the Camp Ripley Recreation Center and on Sunday at 8:00am at the Arden Hills National Guard Armory. Welcome ceremonies at each event will include a motivational message from bestselling author Jamie Tworkowski. According to data from the Minnesota Department of Health, suicide trends in the Minnesota National Guard have directly reflected suicide trends throughout the state in the last 5 years. National Guard members, along with the community members who support them, are welcome to attend these free events.
