Morrison County had a lower unemployment rate in May than a month earlier. Morrison County registered at 4.8% unemployment in May down from 5.8% in April. Here is how our other area counties fared with May unemployment rates: Benton 4.2%, Cass 5.8%, Crow Wing 4.7%, Mille Lacs 5.2%, Sherburne 3.7%, Stearns 3.5%, and Todd 3.8%. The city of Brainerd was at 8.4% and St. Cloud at 4.3%. The state unemployment rate was at 3.6% and national rate 5.3%.
