The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 8-6-2025 at approximately 3:34 pm, their office received a report of a two-vehicle accident just south of 183 rd Street on 160th Avenue approximately one mile north of Little Falls, MN in Belle Prairie Township. According to the Sheriff’s Office, 96-year-old Donald Biskey of Little Falls was traveling south on 160th Avenue when he struck the back of a parked flatbed truck and trailer. After striking the trailer Biskey’s vehicle was thrown into the northbound lane of traffic side swiping a vehicle driven by 63-year-old Patricia Zumberge of Little Falls. The truck and trailer are owned by MC Fiber (CTC) and was part of a fiberoptic crew doing work in the area. They had a working and operational amber light as well as traffic cones and proper signage on the roadway. Biskey was transported to St. Gabriel’s Hospital by Mayo Clinic Ambulance with unknown injuries. Zumberge was not injured.
The man charged with killing the top Democrat in the Minnesota House and her husband, and wounding a state senator and his wife, will likely not go on trial until next spring at the earliest due to the complexity of the case. Vance Boelter appeared in federal court Thursday morning for an arraignment hearing, during which he pleaded not guilty to the battery of charges he faces. Boelter, 58, of Green Isle, Minnesota, was indicted July 15 on six counts of murder, stalking and firearms violations in the shooting deaths of State Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, and the wounding of State Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette. The murder charges could carry the federal death penalty, though prosecutors say that decision is several months away. During Thursday's court appearance, U.S. Magistrate Judge Dulce Foster granted prosecutors their motion to declare it a "complex case," which allows them an extended timeline to prepare. The U.S. Attorney's Office told the judge there are tens of thousands of pages, hundreds of gigabytes of media files, and 1,700 media files to process and examine- a number that will likely grow.
Ten people were arrested and three victims/survivors were recovered after a sting on people accused of sex trafficking in St. Paul. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety said the undercover operation happened on July 30 and 31, where investigators posed as both minors and buyers. Officials said when investigators arrived at an arranged meeting place, the suspects were arrested. Authorities said 10 people were booked on probable cause felony solicitation of a minor under 18 years of age for prostitution. “These 10 arrests are a true testament to the hard work of St. Paul police investigators, the Ramsey County Violent Crime Task Force and the BCA Human Trafficking Task Force,” said St. Paul Police Major Crimes Deputy Chief Jeff Stiff. “Let it be a message that we will hold you accountable for the crimes you commit in St. Paul.” Three female victim/survivors were recovered from a potential sex trafficking situation, authorities said. If you want to report suspected trafficking, you can do so by calling the Minnesota BCA at 877-996-6222 or emailing bca.tips@state.mn.us. “Helping three people exit the throes of a potential sex trafficking situation to begin the healing process and regain control of their lives is why we are passionate and committed to this work,” BCA Superintendent Drew Evans said. “We will remain in lockstep with our law enforcement partners to rid our state of this reprehensible sex crime and support victim/survivors.”
