One person was injured around 4:20pm Wednesday when the operator of a moped reportedly took a curve on Highway 238 in Two Rivers Township of Morrison County a bit fast and went into the ditch at 100th Avenue. 73-year-old Timothy Bogen of Foley after striking the ditch, struck his face on a road sign. Bogen was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of injuries in the accident.
The Little Falls Fire Department was called to a grass fire Tuesday afternoon. The fire department extinguished the fire in the median of highway 371 just south of County Road 49. There were no injuries. The fire department was also called to assist the Randall Fire Department on Tuesday just afternoon on a fire call. No reports were released on that call.

Congresswoman Angie Craig offered her full support to Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan after losing in Tuesday's primaries. "To every person that supported me, I ask you tonight to support and elect Peggy Flanagan as the next U.S. senator from Minnesota. Donald Trump is a threat to our democracy, and Michelle Tafoya would be nothing more than a rubber stamp to his dangerous agenda," said Craig to supporters at her election watch party in St. Paul. The primary battle between Flanagan grew increasingly heated as Tuesday's deadline neared. Campaign ads hammered Craig for her alleged complicity with President Donald Trump's administration, while ads targeting Flanagan focused on fraud in Minnesota. However on the Governor side of things, it was reported Wednesday that Mike Lindell said he's not ready to concede in the Republican primary for Minnesota governor, and blamed potential voting irregularities despite losing by11 percentage points to Minnesota House Speaker Lisa Demuth. Lindell reported that he questions that when it was reported that 265,000 votes left to count then shortly thereafter he was told that was down to 18,000 votes and he lost, Lindell though there was something a miss. Lisa Demuth won the GOP primary by over 4,500 votes over Lindell in end. The State of Minnesota reported over 1 million voters voted in Tuesday's Primary with large numbers in many counties including Stearns County reported one of the highest turnouts ever for a Primary election. The District 10 and District 10A elections on Tuesday reported around 17,000 voters in the senate race, and over 9,000 voters in the house race on Tuesday for primary turnout. The numbers are expected to be big for the November General Election later this year.
The Stearns County Sheriff's Office is investigating an assault involving a weapon in Paynesville. The sheriff's office received a 911 call at about 12:25 a.m. on Tuesday for an assault in a housing unit at a treatment facility. The incident happened in the 300 block of Washburne Avenue. Authorities arrived to learn a 27-year-old man had been assaulted by a 25-year-old man with a homemade bladed weapon. The victim and the suspect both live at the facility and know each other. The suspect fled the scene prior to officers arriving on scene but was arrested by sheriff's deputies and Paynesville police officers later in the day. The victim was taken to Paynesville Hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and later released. The suspect, 25-year-old Isaac Krecklau, is being held in the Stearns County Jail awaiting his first court appearance.
A St. Cloud man involved in two armed robberies has pleaded guilty and was sent to prison ahead of his sentencing date. According to documents filed in Stearns County District Court, 26-year-old Abdiaziz Omar Mohamed pleaded guilty to two separate counts of 1st-degree aggravated robbery and requested an interim commitment to prison ahead of his sentencing later this fall. Court records show a man contacted St. Cloud Police last November to report he had been robbed during a Facebook Marketplace transaction to sell his PlayStation 5. The victim said he met a man in front of an apartment building in the 400 block of 33rd Avenue North whose account contained a profile picture and was named Abdiaziz Mohamed. The man said when he went to make the sale, Mohamed took the console, put it under his arm, pulled a handgun, and pointed it at the victim's chest. The victim tried to get the console back, but the complaint says Mohamed threatened to shoot him and then walked away. The victim took photos of Mohamed and gave them to police, who said they recognized him from previous contacts. Six days later, an impound lot worker in the 1100 block of 6th Street North reported Mohamed had pulled a gun on him while trying to get his car out of the impound lot without paying the fee. According to the charges, Mohamed tried to give the attendant less than the required $274 and was denied his vehicle. Court records show he returned and asked to retrieve his cell phone charger and then tried to drive out. The worker said he tried to secure the gate as Mohamed drove toward him. Mohamed is accused of getting out of his vehicle and trying to shove the man out of the way before going back to his car to retrieve a gun. The victim hid behind a concrete structure and Mohamed left. Officers later made a felony traffic stop and arrested Mohamed without incident. Mohamed pleaded guilty earlier this month and will learn the length of his prison term on October 9th.Transportation and traffic safety officials want Minnesota drivers to slow down. MnDOT and its partners throughout the state have installed more than 300 new Vehicle Speed Feedback Signs along rural highways that detect and display speeds as drivers approach small towns or reduced speed zones. Safety officials say speed is one of the leading causes of death and serious injuries on Minnesota roads, and the digital speed signs are just one tool MnDOT uses to improve highway safety. MnDOT Commissioner Nancy Daubenberger says, "Slowing down saves lives. It's that simple." Safety officials say the preliminary 2025 data shows there were 388 speed-related serious injuries and 102 speed-related fatalities in Minnesota, and approximately 65% of speed-related deaths had at least one driver going 10 miles per hour or more over the speed limit. Speed zone signs are expected to be up across may parts of rural Minnesota by the upcoming Labor Day Weekend.
A firefighter helping battle the wildfires in the Superior National Forest died Tuesday morning following a "medical emergency," officials say. The U.S. Forest Service said in a press release that the incident occurred at around 10:40 a.m. near Ely, Minnesota. Fire and emergency medical services responded, but the firefighter later died after being transported to a hospital. No other details have been provided.
Three people are dead, including a child, after an incident at a Hopkins daycare facility Wednesday morning. The deaths happened at Brown Bear Childcare on the 200 block of Tyler Avenue North, just after 9 a.m., when a parent dropping their child off apparently witnessed the attack and called police. At a press conference around 11 a.m., Hopkins Police Chief Brent Johnson said the victims included an adult man and woman, as well as a child, who authorities believe the victims shared. Johnson also said it was believed the two adults owned the facility, but did not expand on their relationship to each other. Officials are still trying to determine the exact cause of their deaths, but noted it appeared the man who perpetrated the attack was among the deceased and died by suicide. Johnson said at least six other children were present at the time, but all were unharmed. They have all since been reunited with their parents or legal guardians.

Sports: Twins blast out 14 hits in a 7-5 win over Baltimore yesterday to take the series over the Orioles at Target Field. Twins had 5 batters with 2 more hits in the game over the Orioles. Twins will host Philadelphia tonight, then have Friday off before finishing the series Saturday and Sunday. First pitch tonight at 6:30pm at Target Field. Lynx have a great first half, then faltered in the second half but held on to beat Portland last night 85-81 in the WNBA. Collier led with 20 and McBride 19 for the Lynx who lead by 25 at the end of the first half, got outscored by 20 points late in the second half but held on to win. Minnesota Lynx are at Las Vegas on Saturday night at 7pm. The Minnesota Vikings announced that it will be Kyler Murray who will be the #1 quarterback this season for the Vikings and J J McCarthy will be the back up. The Vikings take on the New York Giants at noon on Saturday. The Giants announced that Odell Beckham Jr. will play his first game Saturday in nearly 2 years.
