A semi-driver was injured last night around 9:20pm on Highway 10 in Bellevue Township of Morrison County. According to the state patrol, 53-year-old Darryl Mobley of Allison, Iowa was on Highway 10 when the semi left the road and rolled in the ditch. Mobley was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non life threatening injuries. 

One person was hurt in a two-vehicle crash Saturday. The incident happened just before 11:20 a.m. in Morrison County. The sheriff's office says the crash happened at the intersection of 255th Avenue and 183rd Street in Buh Township, about four miles northwest of Pierz. A vehicle driven by 34-year-old Taylor Ringwelski of Little Falls was heading south on 255th Avenue while a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Landon Schomer of Pierz was westbound on 183 Street. The sheriff's office says Ringwelski failed to stop and struck Schomer's vehicle in the intersection. Ringwelski's passenger, 74-year-old David Ringwelski of Little Falls, was treated at the scene and released. The Sheriff's Office said no one else was injured. 

Morrison County Maintenance employees will be working on the following activities this week: Shouldering CSAH 6, CSAH 22 and County Road 220, Mowing roadside ditches, Installing culverts on County Road 237. Drivers in St. Cloud should expect delays along Veterans Drive/8th Street North starting Tuesday morning, as orange cones will mark temporary lane restrictions for scheduled utility maintenance work. The closures will affect traffic between 27th Avenue North and 29th Avenue North from Tuesday, August 5th, through Thursday, August 7th, weather permitting. During the three-day timeline, traffic will be reduced to just one lane in each direction, with crews maintaining head-to-head traffic on the inner lanes. People who need to navigate the area should allow extra time for their trips, consider alternate routes when possible, exercise patience and caution in the construction zone, and follow all posted signs. The utility work is weather-dependent and could be postponed if conditions are unfavorable. Normal traffic patterns are expected to resume on Friday morning.

A man arrested on child pornography charges after a citizen-run sting operation allegedly caught him talking to what he thought was a 13-year-old girl on a dating app makes his first court appearance on Monday. Jason Alan Dalbec was charged in Wright County District Court last week with 10 counts of possessing child pornography. According to the criminal complaint, photos seized from the 47-year-old’s electronic devices showed girls who appear no older than 13 and as young as five. Members of Bikers Against Predators traveled to Cokato on July 19th, confronted Dalbec at his home and contacted the Sheriff’s Office. The Indiana-based nonprofit says its mission is to take “action against online child predators and have them face justice.” Members of the group used the app Meet4u to coax Dalbec into reaching out.

Minnesota businesses are invited to join Governor Tim Walz on a trade mission to Europe in the fall to improve economic relations. Gov. Walz and the Minnesota Trade Office (MTO) will visit Berlin, Düsseldorf and Zürich to showcase the state for business investments and boost exports. Last year, Germany was Minnesota's eighth-largest export market, valued at $649 million. In 2024, Switzerland ranked 22nd with exports valued at $232 million. "Switzerland serves as an excellent test market for a range of goods and services, and is strategically placed as a gateway to European markets," according to a news release. Germany is the biggest economy in Europe and the third-largest economy in the world after the U.S. and China. While in Düsseldorf, the Minnesota business delegation will attend MEDICA, a medical technology and health care trade fair. Medtech companies, along with businesses in manufacturing, agriculture, and higher education sectors, will also attend the trip.  "Companies or delegates not in these industries are also encouraged to apply and will be considered on a space-available basis," according to officials. If accepted, Minnesota companies will be expected to make a "mission fee" of $4,000, a non-refundable deposit. The fee does not include "airfare, hotels, transportation and meals outside of specified mission activities, and incidental expenses." Small businesses are encouraged to take advantage of the state's STEP Grant program to help pay for the trip.

Little Falls Community Schools is holding Registration Week August 12th. All families of the District, both new and returning, are urged to come to the Community High Commons during the week to register students who will be attending school in the District. Representatives of all Four buildings will be available to help make sure all necessary paperwork is completed before school begins. The Franciscan Sisters invited all to the Green Fair Folk Festival Wednesday 4-8pm on the west lawn of the St. Francis Convent. There will horse drawn carriage rides around the grounds, tours of the chapel, live music and many organizations and vendors on hand for a family friendly environment. Kids have many free items to take and do during the night and the Sisters making their peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. 

The Friends of Linden Hill is hosting Lumberjack Fest on August 14th at the Linden Hills Mansions. Family friendly, picnic dinner, silent auction, adults and do ax throwing, hammer slam, beer stein holding and lumberjack and jill look a like contests. Kids have sack races, safe ax throwing and a tug a war. Picnic at 5pm, games at 6pm winners announced at 7:30pm. Tickets are $30 adults, $10 kids and must be purchased by Wednesday, August 6th for a head count for food for the night. Minnesota Vikings have preseason opener Saturday at 3pm vs. Houston Texans at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
