On Saturday at 1am, the Little Falls Fire Department and Little Falls Police Department were dispatched to 1301 5th Avenue SE on a report of a garage fire, with a possible explosion involved. Law enforcement officers from the Morrison County Sheriff’s Department and Little Falls Police arrived first.They found fire in one of the garage units. They reported to the fire department that the fire was growing rapidly and was threatening vehicles nearby. Firefighters arrived and found heavy fire in the garage structure with 4 or 5 of the garage units directly involved. Firefighters worked to contain the fire to the units that were involved and prevented it from spreading to any vehicles or nearby buildings. There was an adult male that was injured during the fire, he was transported by Mayo Ambulance to St Gabriel’s Hospital with unknown injuries. There was damage to the entire garage structure which contained 12 individual units. There was also some heat damage to a few vehicles and the apartment building. The Little Falls Fire Department was assisted by Little Falls Police, Morrison County Sheriff’s Department, Mayo Clinic Ambulance, and the MN State Fire Marshal’s Office. Firefighters cleared the scene at approximately 0330 hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the the Fire Department, Little Falls Police, and the MN State Fire Marshal.
Also the Little Falls Fire Department back on Thursday night at 10:30pm were called to a grass fire with the Minnesota DNR and Camp Ripley Firefighters to 23800 185th Avenue in Ripley Township and the grass fire was spreading into the woods. A Morrison County Deputy arrived first and reported that the fire was burning some old lawnmowers and ATV’s. Firefighters were able to contain the fire before it spread to more equipment. The Little Falls Fire Department was assisted by Morrison County Sheriff’s Department, MN DNR, and Camp Ripley Fire Department. Firefighters cleared the scene at approximately before midnight. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental. The fire department was also called to a grass fire on Sunday at 4:35pm on Highway 371 and mile marker 1 just north of Little Falls but the DNR had extinguished the fire before they arrived on Sunday.
The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Friday at approximately 6:25pm their office received a report of a man who had been run over by a tractor at a residence off 105th Avenue, approximately two miles east of Randall, MN in Darling Township. According to the Sheriff’s Office, 60-year-old Carl Wainman of Randall, MN fell off the tractor while putting it in gear. He was subsequently run over and became caught between the rear tire and a chisel plow. Family members were able to remove Wainman from under the equipment before emergency responders arrived. He was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital by Life Link III
with unknown injuries. The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Randall Fire and Rescue, Camp Ripley Fire Department, Mayo Clinic Ambulance and Life Link III.
A Stearns County judge has sentenced a man to probation for having sex with a runaway girl who was under 16-years-old at the time. Twenty-six-year-old Andre Sudor Jr. also gets credit for serving 205 days in the county jail. According to the charges filed in Stearns County District Court, Sudor met a pair of runaway girls last May and proceeded to have sex with one of the girls multiple times in the bathrooms of south St. Cloud businesses. St. Cloud Police were called to the 500 block of 8th Avenue South last May to talk with the second girl who allegedly told police that Sudor and the other girl were having sex. She said she knew this because she was in the bathroom with Sudor and the other girl at the time. According to the criminal complaint, Sudor consented to a search of his cell phone. Police say the phone contained nude photos of the victim and photos of Sudor sexually touching the girl as he took a photo in the mirror. The charges alleged Sudor claimed he didn't know she was a juvenile. Sudor pleaded guilty in January to one count of 3rd-degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim between 14 and 15 years old.
The man shot by police after attacking an officer with a knife on Friday afternoon says police had every right to fire. Kyeon Royale Hill made an appearance on Monday in Stearns County District Court on a felony charge of first-degree assault with a weapon and a misdemeanor charge of domestic assault. According to the criminal complaint, police were called to the 600 block of 8th Avenue North for a dispute between a man and a woman. The woman told police she had called Hill to pick up some of his property. She says the 46-year-old was agitated and lunged at her with his fists as if he was about to punch her. The victim reported she was terrified and called police. Court records show Hill was sitting in his car outside when police approached and saw he had a knife. Officers told Hill to drop the knife and get out of the vehicle multiple times, but he refused and at one point stated he wasn’t going to let police arrest him. Investigators say he ultimately exited the vehicle with a cell phone in his hand. When officers told him to turn around because he was under arrest, Hill allegedly swung an open knife in his other hand and lunged at the officer, cutting the cop in the left tricep. A witness says Hill was swearing and stated he was going to kill the officer. he officer under attack fired one round, hitting Hill. He was then taken to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment. Hill told police he heard officers tell him he was under arrest and admitted to attacking the officer with a knife. He told investigators police had every right to shoot. Bail was set at $1,000,000 with conditions and $2,000,000 without conditions. His next court hearing is set for May 19th.
A 2017 Ford Explorer was traveling east Friday, May 9, on Highway 18 in Aitkin County when a turkey made contact with the vehicle’s windshield, causing the vehicle to veer off the highway and roll into the south ditch. The crash, which injured the driver, was reported at 2:04 p.m. on the highway at 360th Avenue in Wealthwood Township. The Minnesota State Patrol reported the road was dry at the time. The State Patrol stated the driver, Jennifer R. Geren, 48, Wealthwood, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Riverwood Healthcare Center hospital in Aitkin. Geren was wearing a seat belt.

Sports- The Twins try to continue their winning streak tonight at Baltimore pregame at 5pm on Q92 WYRQ while the Timberwolves win again last night over Golden State in California 117-110 to take Game 4 of their NBA playoff series. The Wolves lead the series 3-1 and could wrap it up tomorrow night at the Target Center in Game 5 at 8:30pm, if a Game 6 is necessary that would be played Sunday in California.
