Peter Grams of Melgram Jewelers spoke on AM960 KLTF Party Line Tuesday about the work that was done at their downtown business. Peter announced that earlier this year he sold the building that they were in to CGI Contegrity Group Inc. who has their office next to their on the corner then they rented the front portion back to Peter Grams to continue the jewelry business. Peter said that his father moved the business which was about a block north of where they are now in 1999 to the former drug store building downtown. Grams said construction has been interesting as they continue to find older items from the past and other items they can use or have given to others for their buildings. Melgram Jewelers did what he calls a soft opening last week so you can come in and see the work in Little Falls Tuesday through Saturdays for your jewelry needs and there will be a larger grand reopening event in September around the craft fair in the downtown area. He mentioned they are only using the front door to the business as they have the front portion for their jewelry store as the back part (former gift area) is now CGI's extended area but in time a back entrance is likely to be used for both businesses. He appreciates all the customers who have understood about the renovating being done on the business and those you have already stopped back into continue the business that is celebrating 50 years this year in Little Falls. You can also stop in and register for the 75th Anniversary AM/FM Radio giveaway as one of the participating sponsors with KLTF.

A St. Cloud man is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting women while they were unconscious. According to a criminal complaint, St. Cloud police received two videos showing Tyler Ross Schommer abusing two unconscious women. The videos were sent in a mass text message and subsequently reported to the department. One of the victims was identified and interviewed by police, but the other victim has not been identified. The identified victim’s uncle was among the people who received the video. Investigators say Schommer’s girlfriend threatened the victim with a gun if she told anyone about the video, after the mass text was sent. The identified victim says the violation took place on March 25th at a Sherburne County property southeast of St. Cloud referred to as the “compound,” where Schommer lived. Multiple people, including the victim, told police that the 37-year-old, who goes by “Sarge,” is known to sexually assault women who are passed out and later tries to convince them that they consented. The victim allegedly said Schommer gives women the sedative GHB to put them into a deep sleep, and claims he also “chokes” women for the same effect. The victim said Schommer has done this to her multiple times. He has been charged with 3rd-degree criminal sexual conduct and is being held in the Sherburne County Jail. Schommer is scheduled to appear in court on August 13th for a pre-trial hearing.

Sheriff's officials in Wyoming are organizing search and rescue operations after a Minnesotan hiker went missing after summitting Cloud Peak. Grant Gardner, 38, had planned a three-day hike in the Misty Moon Lake area, according to the Big Horn County Sheriff's Office in a Facebook post Monday. He contacted his wife on July 29, saying he summited Cloud Peak and it was more difficult than he expected. There have not been any messages from Gardner since then. Search and rescue teams found Gardner's vehicle in the parking lot near the trailhead where he began the hike. Phone records show that he reached the top of Cloud Peak around 9 p.m. on July 29, which was late enough to concern searchers. Since then, Wyoming officials and search dogs have searched the ground and from aircraft, according to the Big Horn County Sheriff's Office. Two rescuers have received medical care, as the terrain and conditions are extremely challenging. The Big Horn County Sheriff's Office said in the Facebook post that winds, thunder and lightning have made the search more difficult.
A paraprofessional at a school in Champlin is charged with assault and malicious punishment of a child after a witness told police they saw her repeatedly strike a child with autism. The criminal complaint filed against 56-year-old Joyce Monwon details the incident that led prosecutors to charge her with one count of malicious punishment of a child and two counts of fifth-degree assault. Champlin police were sent to the unnamed school on May 7, 2025, after receiving a report of an assault on a child. Arriving officers spoke with a school employee who told them she walked into a room and saw Monwon hit a 10-year-old boy two or three times while he was lying on the ground. The witness told investigators the defendant's fist was closed, and she appeared to be using her palm to hit the child in the head. When the boy got up, the woman told police, he looked at Monwon in a way she described as "sad and confused." The witness said she works in the school's special education program and has known the victim - described as autistic and nonverbal - since he was in kindergarten. When interviewed by investigators, Monwon reportedly said she was working with the boy and was supposed to go on a walk with him. She indicated the child was uncooperative, lay down on the floor, and was waving his hands in the air. The assault charge is a gross misdemeanor, carrying a potential penalty of nearly a year in jail, while fifth-degree assault is a misdemeanor.
