Little Falls Community High School Principal Tim Bjorge spoke on KLTF Tuesday morning. This is homecoming week for the Flyers and the game is Friday 7pm vs. Pierz. He wanted to remind those who travel in southeast Little Falls Friday afternoon that the Homecoming Parade will take place starting at 2pm and leave the Middle School Parking Lot and head south past the tennis courts, around the loop area of the high school and then turn onto 9th Street past Lindbergh Elementary and then turn left onto 1st Avenue and head down to the back of St. Mary's Church and School on 5th Avenue to 5th Street and then back to the high school before dismissal of students. The parade takes about 30-45 minutes and Bjorge reminds motorists that the roads in that area will be closed or rerouted for the parade on Friday afternoon. Questions can be directed to the High School office at 320-616-2200.

Several residents had to be displaced after an apartment fire in St. Cloud Monday night. Firefighters were dispatched to 909 5th Avenue South at around 10:30 p.m. for a fire inside an apartment unit. Fire crews arrived to find heavy fire showing from a bedroom window and heavy smoke conditions throughout the building. The firefighters were able to conduct a search of the building to confirm everyone had evacuated safely while also battling the blaze in the apartment unit. The fire was contained to the single unit, extinguished, and the building ventilated. No one was hurt, but residents in 12 apartment units were displaced as a result of the smoke damage. The Battalion Chief says the St. Cloud Health Department has closed the building until the necessary cleaning is completed and the alarm system is fully restored. The St. Cloud Fire Marshal determined the cause of the fire was an unattended candle.

Drivers in the area of Highway 15 and Highway 10 in Sauk Rapids will see some road construction activity beginning on Monday. The Minnesota Department of Transportation will begin prep work on the Highway 15 overpass to westbound Highway 10. Drivers should expect about three weeks of preparation work with minimal traffic impacts. Crews will be realigning the right turn lane at Benton County Road 29 as weather permits. The majority of the work and the entire bridge reconstruction, including a detour, will take place in the spring of 2027. The $6.6-million project will replace the bridge over eastbound Highway 10, resurface road approaches, replace guardrails, and make other updates.

On September 26, 2026, at approximately 8:12 P.M., the Stearns County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a two-vehicle crash with injuries on Co. Rd. 2 at the intersection with Co. Rd. 139 in St. Joseph Twp.  Several minutes later one of the drivers involved also called 911 and indicated he was injured.  A passerby went and checked on the other involved driver who was stuck in his vehicle as the doors were not working. Stearns County Deputies along with officers from the St. Joseph Police Department and the Cold Spring Police Department responded to the crash. The St. Joseph Fire Department and Mayo Ambulance Service also responded. Investigation determined that Nicholas Younkin, 29, of Rockville was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on Co. Rd. 139 in St. Joseph Township.  Younkin failed to stop at the stop sign at Co. Rd. 2 and struck a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado on the driver’s side.  The 2020 Silverado was driven by Les Bertram, 56, of Cold Spring who was traveling southbound on Co. Rd. 2.  Bertram’s vehicle rolled over several times and came to rest in a nearby cornfield. Bertram, who was restrained, was treated for his injuries at the scene and released.  Younkin, who was unrestrained, was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of his injuries.  Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor for Younkin and the investigation is continuing.
