–Little Falls Radio has once again received word that tax scams are occurring at a high volume rate at this time. In many cases scammers will pose as IRS agents to try to fool you into providing tax or personal information they can use to scam money off of you. The IRS has repeatedly mentioned they will not call you without first mailing you a notice of past due funds. If you receive a call such as this, it is best to hang up immediately. If you have reason to believe the IRS may wish to contact you, you should still hang up and then call the IRS yourself. Because scammers are able to change what numbers appear on your caller ID, you should never provide personal or banking information over the phone unless you initiated the contact.
