NEWS
–The man the FBI is calling a person of interest in the Jacob Wetterling disappearance wants an unrelated federal child pornography case moved out of the Twin Cities. Attorneys for Danny Heinrich filed several motions late Tuesday. They include a request for changing the trial venue, a request to have some evidence tossed out including a DNA swab as well as items taken out of his home, and a request to suppress Heinrich’s statements to investigators on four separate occasions. Last July, investigators say they discovered 19 binders of child pornography in Heinrich’s Annandale home. Heinrich pleaded not guilty to more than two dozen charges. His trial is set for July.

A car driven by 18-year old Joshua Seaboy of Buffalo was northbound on Minnesota Highway 25 south of Annandale. Three vehicles were stopped at a red light on Highway 25 at Wright County Road 37. The car rear ended one vehicle pushing it into the other two. Seaboy and his three passengers 18-year old Marcus Grave, 16-year old Raymond Polman of Buffalo and 19-year old Rosemary Keelin all of Buffalo suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening. One of the other drivers 37-year old Darrell McCutchison of Buffalo was also injured.

–Motorists on Highway 15 between Highway 23/Division Street in St. Cloud and the Highway 15/Benton Drive interchange in Sauk Rapids may encounter delays as segments of the road are reduced to a single lane overnight beginning Monday, April 11th. The closures will occur from 7:30pm to 6:30am Sundays through Fridays. No closures are currently scheduled from 6:30am Saturday through 7:30pm Sundays. The closures are needed while crews resurface Highway 15 between Highway 23/Division Street in St. Cloud and the Benton Drive interchange in Sauk Rapids, and improve the Highway 15/12th Street N intersection and the Highway 15/County Road 1 intersection. When complete, the project will result in a smoother ride, improve traffic flow and accessibility and improve pedestrian safety.

Many of the seats were from the old Metropolitan Stadium. The baseball field has been there since 1938. It was named after Larson, the longtime head baseball coach, in 1994. Ann Fitch of the Waseca City Council said in a Facebook post the State Fire Marshall will be on scene Thursday morning to investigate the cause of the fire. –Fisheries managers have changed course and decided to allow live bait on Mille Lacs Lake this season after all. The Department of Natural Resources had planned to ban most anglers from using live bait as part of a package of restrictions aimed at reviving the popular lake’s struggling walleye population. All the other regulations announced last month remain in place, including the requirement that all walleyes caught must be immediately released. DNR fisheries chief Don Pereira says anglers are accepting the catch-and-release rule. But he says the lake’s advisory committee and DNR staff heard clear concerns from the Mille Lacs community and angling public about the live bait ban. Bobber fishing with live bait has a long tradition on Mille Lacs, and there were concerns about discouraging young anglers.
