NEWS
--Friday around 12:15am the Morrison County Sheriff ‘s Office received a report of a one vehicle accident with injuries on Jewel Road, near 253rd Street in Ripley Township. 26-year old Michael Gosse of Fort Ripley was traveling north on Jewel Road when he struck a deer. Gosse lost control of his vehicle, went in the ditch and rolled. Gosse was transported to St. Gabriel’s Hospital by ambulance for treatment of unknown injuries.

--The Morrison County Sheriff's Office in the past 7-10 days have investigated a number of suspicious activity reports including a vehicle struck on a minimum maintenance road near 190th Street in Little Falls where subjects were called to help get the vehicle out, a death reported in a residence April 1st on 11th Street Northeast in Little Falls and report of a grass fire Wednesday at 7:30am on the median of Highway 10 and Highway 115.

--A level 3 predatory offender is moving back into rural Crow Wing County. 56-year old Terrance Lee Lindmark was released from custody on April 5th and is now residing at a residence located on the 11000 block of Bonnie Road in Brainerd. There will not be a public notification meeting on Mr. Lindmark as he has been a resident of Crow Wing County for many years and had been monitored by the Brainerd Police Departmen prior to moving to Bonnie Road. Sheriff Dahl has notified residents living within the area of Mr. Lindmark’s residence and provided them with a public information fact sheet.

--One driver was injured and the other cited after a two-vehicle crash Thursday south of Avon. The crash happened at 5:49pm at the intersection of Kalla Lake Road and Stearns County Road 9. A vehicle being driven by Otto Elmer Schmidt, 33, of Avon was stopped on Kalla Road when it pulled out in front of a vehicle traveling north on County Road 9, according to the sheriff's office. Schmidt's vehicle was hit by a vehicle being driven by Janel Debra Hoffarth, 35, of Avon. Schmidt was treated at the scene but not hospitalized.

--Around 9:45pm a Crow Wing County deputy was involved in a pursuit with a motor vehicle who fled. The driver, 37-year old Patricia Beach was placed under arrest for fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, driving after suspension and an outstanding warrant from Cass County. The incident started when a Pequot Lakes Police Officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle. Beach was a passenger in the vehicle and moved into the driver’s seat and drove away from the stop. The vehicle, being driven by Beach, was located by the deputy on County Road 17, west of Pequot Lakes and refused to stop. The pursuit ensued until the vehicle drove off the road near the intersection of County Road 168 and South Sluetter Road. Beach ran from the vehicle and into the woods where she was arrested.

--A Willmar man is charged with bias-motivated assault after a Somali cab driver said he was choked by a passenger while driving from downtown St. Cloud to a bar east of the city. 23-year old Zachary Todd Degraw was in Benton County District Court this week to face charges of assault motivated by bias, a gross misdemeanor, and two counts of misdemeanor fifth-degree assault.

--A 68-year-old woman from Howard Lake was injured in a single vehicle crash in St. Augusta on Thursday. The release said the crash took place at 2:21pm on Stearns County Road 141 in St. Augusta. The sheriff's office Sharon Lehtola, was westbound on County Road 141 when she left the roadway and crashed into a field approach. Lehtola was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of injuries.

--A Stearns County judge sentenced a man to 15 years in prison for helping rob a man who was selling him drugs. 32-year old Lynell Richard Ellison was convicted in February of aiding and abetting aggravated robbery and second-degree assault. He was sentenced last week by the Stearns County District Court Judge who found that there were aggravating circumstances in the case that warranted a sentence above what's called for in State Sentencing Guidelines.

--The Minnesota Department of Transportation is looking for individuals and organizations to join the more than 4,500 groups and 45,000 people in the state who are Adopt a Highway volunteers. The program is a public service project that helps reduce litter along the roadsides. The volunteers, representing schools, businesses, faith-based organizations, families and individuals, clean up more than 10,000 miles of Minnesota roadways each year. Groups last year spent more than 180,000 hours picking up more than 960,000 pounds of litter. Details on the Adopt a Highway volunteering can be made by going to the MN Dot website.

--Join area EMS, law enforcement, fire departments and several county agencies from 3:00-7:00pm on Thursday, April 27th at the CentraCare Health Plaza for an interactive event for all ages. Come learn how traffic safety is approached by these collaborations and check out a LifeLink helicopter, impaired driving simulation/pedal carts, rollover simulator, ambulance, fire trucks, car seat education and much more. This event is sponsored by coalitions that are working toward the goal of zero deaths on roadways. A major focus now is to reduce crashes on Highway 23 from Milaca to Richmond.

--Comedian Don Rickles died Thursday at age 90. Rickles was a comedy staple and know as King of Insults on television, movies and voice over works for over 60 years in the entertainment business.

TWINS= Twins win 3-1 Friday over White Sox to improve to 4-0. Twins then drop their first game of the season losing 6-2 to White Sox on Saturday. Miguel Sano blasted a 2 run homer to lift Twins to a 4-1 win on Sunday. Twins (5-1) have today off.
NCAA= Denver won the NCAA Frozen Four Hockey Championship Saturday by beating UMD Bulldogs 3-2.
GOLF= Sergio Garcia defeated Justin Rose in a sudden death playoff round to win the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, Georgia.
