NEWS
--An Osakis man was injured Thursday morning around 6:30 on Highway 27 in Pike Creek Township. 54-year old Jamey Gilson of Cushing was traveling on Highway 27 in a semi truck when 29-year old Dustin Wagner of Osakis crossed the center line, entering the westbound lane of Highway 27. The semi-driver swerved to the right but the truck hit head on. Wagner was taken to Little Falls Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Gilson was not hurt.

--Two people were hurt Sunday morning around 11:30am on Highway 27 and Highway 169 in Onamia. 29-year old Seth Naslund of Onamia was on Highway 27, made a left turn onto 169 and was struck by a northbound vehicle driven by 68-year old Larry Gotvald of St. Cloud. Both drivers were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

--An Osakis couple was arrested after officers found them leaving meth paraphernalia lying around a home with three young children. Osakis police say that 28-year old Jessica Wagner and 29-year old Dustin Wagner were charged with leaving syringes that tested positive for meth in the kitchen and near a mattress in one of the children's bedrooms where the syringe had his rubber portion removed. 12 more syringes were collected from the basement of the home. The children were removed from the home and placed in care of another family member. Jessica Wagner was arrested and charged in Todd County District Court. Her husband was not home at the time. He was later found in Benton County and arrested. His first court appearance is scheduled for today.

--A 32-year old Remer man was sentenced to 12 years in prison on first degree criminal sexual conduct with a 4-year old girl. Jacob John White reportedly sexually assaulted the girl on at least two occasions in August and September of 2016. Jacob White's sentence runs concurrently with one year in jail for a 5th degree sexual conduct arrest. The 5th degree charge came from an attempted sexual assault on a 12-year old girl.

--A Sartell man is charged with 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct for allegedly having sex with a 13-year old girl. According to the criminal complaint the girl’s mother told police her daughter was in a sexual relationship with 17-year old Dante Perrault. The two were dating between October 2015 to May 2016. During that time Perrault and the girl admitted authorities to having sex at least three different times and that she was 13-year old when it started. She also knew Perrault was 17-year old. If convicted, Perrault could face up to ten years in prison and $20,000 fine.

--Two cows were shot as they were grazing on the Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge and now the sheriff’s office is looking for your help to find the person or persons responsible. Sherburne County Sheriff Joel Brott says deputies were called to the area near 293rd Avenue Northwest in Blue Hill Township, Tuesday to talk with a man who has cattle that graze on the refuge. The man told deputies he had found a cow and calf shot on the refuge. Brott says the cows looked to have been dead for several days. He says the cow was found in a creek and the calf was found nearly 15 feet away from the cow. Brott says anyone with information on the incident should call the sheriff’s department investigators, (763) 765-3500.

--A special thank you to all who attended the Morrison County Fair this year in Little Falls. The board members, volunteers, workers and everyone who helped make it another great experience this year.

--The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has gotten involved into trying to locate 15-year old Jasmine Block of Alexandria who was last seen on August 9th at her residence. Jasmine is white, with brown hair, brown eyes, 5'1 and aorund 110 pounds. Her clothing she was wearing was not known. She may still be in the area or in central Minnesota. If you have seen her you are asked to call their National hotline at 1-800-THE LOST. (1-800-843-5678).

--A 3-vehicle accident halted traffic on Highway 15 at 44th Avenue South in St. Cloud Friday around 4:30pm. 61-year old Vicki Wyfells of Willmar was stopped at a stoplight when her vehicle was rear ended by 33-year old Kevin Nelson of Spooner, Wisconsin causing a third vehicle to strike the second driven by 60-year old David Boushek of Waite Park. Boushek and one of the four passengers in the Nelson vehicle suffered injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

--Saturday around 10:00am, Stearns County Sheriffs Office received a call of a motor vehicle crash in Melrose Township. A vehicle driven by Thomas Klaphake of St Cloud pulled out into the intersection and collided with Charles Ripka of Elk River. The passenger in the first vehicle 29-year old Ross Klaphake of Sauk Rapids and the passengers in other vehicles, Connor Rushton, 15, South St Paul, Harold Rushton, 41, South St Paul, and Austin Rushton, 19, South St Paul were all treated for injuries from the accident. None of them were serious.

--A man wanted by police was found hiding in a refrigerator. The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says they received information last Thursday that Devante King was in a mobile home in Bel Clare Acres. He had five warrants out of Stearns County and also one out of Hennepin County. Deputies entered the home and found him inside the fridge. While being escorted to the squad car, King broke free and ran from the deputies while handcuffed behind his back. He was caught a couple blocks away and taken to jail.

TWINS= Rosario & Kepler go deep Friday and help Twins beat Tigers 9-4 to win 6 in a row. Twins blew an 11-5 lead late as Detroit got 2 run homers in the 8th and 9th to win 12-11 Saturday. Twins rally with 2 in the 8th to win Sunday 6-4 to take the series over the Tigers. The Twins are off today and host 1st place Cleveland on Tuesday.
8C= Fort Ripley beat Sobieski Saturday 15-5, then Fort Ripley defeated Avon 4-1 to advance to play Buckman Sunday. Buckman battled the rain to win 15-7 over Fort Ripley Sunday to win the Region 8C Tournament for 2017. The Class C State Tournament begins this Friday for Sobieski, Saturday for Fort Ripley and Sunday for Avon. Buckman will play on August 26th. Games on KLTF.
