NEWS
--Congratulations to the Pierz American Legion Baseball Team for winning the Central Plains Regional Tournament Sunday 5-3 over West Salem-Wisconsin. Pierz won 6-4 over West Salem Thursday, beat Dickinson, North Dakota 8-0 Friday, lost to Marysville, Kansas 12-3 Friday night, beat Las Vegas in the semi-finals Saturday 5-0 then again won the title Sunday in North Dakota. Pierz goes 18-1 on the season and wins the Division II Central Plains Regional Title.

--Two 16 year olds were injured Wednesday night around 7:30pm on Highway 10 in Randall. The State Patrol said a jeep driven by Hannah Jones of Little Falls left the northbound lane and rolled over on 6th Street in Randall. Jones and her passenger, Amari Riley of Cushing were both treated at an area hospital for their injuries.

--A Little Falls woman was injured Friday around 5:45pm on Highway 10 at 6th Street in Royalton. 25-year old Lacy Ploof was north on Highway 10 when she rearended a vehicle driven by 46-year old Anne Bartsch of Hugo that was stopped in traffic which caused that vehicle to strike a third. Ploof was taken to an area hospital and treated for injuries. Bartsch and her two passengers, ages 10 and 9 were not injured. The driver in the third vehicle was not hurt.

--8th District Congressman Rick Nolan made it official Thursday that he will run for a 7th term in U.S. Congress next November. This will be the fourth straight for Nolan who defeated Chip Cravaack in 2012, then beat Stewart Mills III in two close races 2014 and 2016. He also was a Congressman back in the 1970s. Nolan was a possible candidate for Governor as the DFL Party worked on trying to get him to run but Nolan said his priorties were to the 8th District voters.

--Two people were hurt Friday around 7pm on Highway 71 in Kandota Township of Todd County from an accident. 28-year old Andrew Cors of New London was on Highway 71 when a vehicle made a U-turn in front of him and he collided with the other vehicle. Cors was not hurt. The two in the other vehicle, 38-year old Shanna Sharp of Spicer and 67-year old Raymond Karels of Willmar sustained non serious injuries that were treated at the Sauk Centre hospital.

--Both drivers involved in an accident Wednesday morning in Brainerd were taken to the hospital for injuries. Shortly after 10:00am, 40-year old Angela Kolas of Baxter was heading south on Fourth Street Northwest waiting to turn left when a vehicle driven by 76-year old Norbert Duscher of Breezy Point collided with her. Both sustained minor injuries.

--A charter bus and two other vehicles collided on Highway 23 in Kanabec County Friday around 10:00pm. None of the drivers were injured when the accident occurred on Highway 23 in South Fork Township. One passenger on the bus, that had many children and others on it, 48-year-old Elizabeth Skinaway of McGregor was taken to the hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported. The State Patrol said debris was seen for a long stretch of Highway 23 and that this accident could have been a lot worse.

--The Morrison County Fair begins Thursday, celebrating 25 years at the current site east of Little Falls on County Road 43. Military Day Thursday, Motor Day Friday, Kids Day Saturday, Senior Day Sunday with pig races, sponsored by Little Falls Radio Thursday at 1:00pm and Friday at 5:00pm, new track for the demolition derby Friday night at 7pm, cash drawings Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 10:00pm and fireworks will be shot off Friday after dark. --St. Cloud Police and Fire pulled a young boy from the Mississippi River near Munsinger Park. Around 11:30 Friday morning they arrived they learned a 5-year old had been playing with his 7-year old brother in the river. Around noon, firefighters in one of the rescue boats found the unresponsive body of 7-year old Faud Rahey of St. Cloud. CPR was started by both fire and police personnel. Rahey was taken to St. Cloud Hospital, and pronounced dead at 12:28pm. The investigation of the incident is active and the boy’s body will be sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office. The police do not suspect foul play.

--A St. Cloud man was arrested after firing shots in downtown St. Cloud early Thursday morning. At 1:50am officers responded to the 10 Block of 5th Avenue South to a report of gunshots. Officers located a male matching the suspect description provided by witnesses. The male initially tried to walk away from officers and at one point jumped down into the window well of a house. Upon search of the window well, a loaded handgun was recovered. The suspect 22-year old Kenneth Jamal Carter of St. Cloud was found to be in possession of a controlled substance believed to be cocaine. Carter was also found to be a convicted felon, which prevents him from lawfully possessing a firearm. He was arreested on mutiple charges from the incident. No one was injured.

--An employee of Stearns Electric Association was injured Friday morning when the boom of the bucket truck he was in detached. The line worker fell and sustained serious injuries at a job site near Glenwood just after 10:00am. The employee was taken by ambulance to Glacial Ridge Health System in Glenwood and then airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center. The cooperative said Friday afternoon that at this point they don't believe electrical contact occurred. The cooperative did not release the name of the worker. An investigation is underway.

--Little Falls City Council meets tonight 7:30 at Little Falls City Hall.

TWINS= Brian Dozier hit 2 homeruns as Twins beat Texas 8-4 Friday then on Saturday Texas rebounded to beat Twins 4-1. Twins rallied with homers from Dozier and Rosario to win 6-5 on Sunday to split the 4 game series. Twins host Brewers tonight 6:30pm on Q92.
8C= Sobieski eliminated St. Stephen Saturday 4-1. Fort Ripley downed Nisswa 9-1 and Buckman beat Avon 6-3 on Saturday. Mother nature won the battle on Sunday as the rains came and postponed the games. Sobieski and Ft. Ripley will continue play on Saturday at 1:00pm with the winner playing Avon at 4:00pm Saturday. Buckman will await the winner of Saturday's 4:00pm game on Sunday at 1:00pm for the Region 8C Championship in Avon on AM960 KLTF.
LYNX= Indiana stunned Lynx last night 84-82. Lindsey Whalen out of action with a broken left hand from last Thursday's game.
