NEWS
--A 40-year-old from Pierz was killed Sunday morning on Highway 25 in Morrison County. The State Patrol said Joseph Herold was traveling Highway 25 near 163rd Street just after 6am, due to the very foggy conditions Herold stuck an unknown vehicle. Heorld was pronounced dead at the scene when authorities arrived. No other details released.

--A 48-year-old from Randall was hurt Friday afternoon in an two vehicle accident in Crow Wing County. 48-year-old Shawn Flick was south on Highway 371 at Green Gables Road when 58-year-old Cindy Jo Parker of Brainerd pulled out in front of Flick just before 4pm. Flick refused hospitalization. Parker was airlifted from the scene with serious but ruled non life threatening injuries to St. Cloud.

--The Minnesota State Patrol reported a fatal accident early Sunday just after 4:20am on Interstate 94 in Sauk Centre. A semi-truck struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian was dead at the scene. The name is being withheld pending notifications of relatives.

--A one vehicle accident injured two people Thursday just after 3:30pm on Highway 25 in Long Lake Township of Crow Wing County. 41-year old Jade Nickels of Brainerd was north on 25 when the vehicle left the road and struck several trees. Nickels had injuries but refused to be taken to the hospital. A passenger, 38-year old Andrhea Robinson of Brainerd was taken to the hospital with non life threatening inuries. The State Patrol said alochol was not a factor.

--There were 741 new cases of COVID-19 and 13 new deaths linked to the virus Sunday. Morrison County over the weekend had 6 new cases Saturday and 4 Sunday making 170 cases since testing began.

--Crow Wing County Sheriff Scott Goddard reports that shortly before 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Unit, the Lakes Area Drug Investigation Division along with assistance from the Crow Wing County Bomb Team, the Crosslake Police Department and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension executed a search warrant at a residence located in the 13000 block of North Horseshoe Lake Rd in Mission Township. Donald Eugene Lewandowski was taken into custody and is housed at the Crow Wing County Jail on the following charges: Felony probation violation, 2 counts of 5th degree possession of controlled substance, receiving stolen property, possession of firearms or ammunition by a prohibited person, and possession of an explosive device by a prohibited person. Also charged, but not arrested were Brian William Durant for 5th degree possession of a controlled substance, Erick Allen Lewandowski for possession of firearms or ammunition by a prohibited person, and Kathlene Ann Walther for 5th degree possession of a controlled substance. An improvised explosive device was located inside the residence, the Crow Wing County Bomb Team responded, rendered the device safe, and disposed of it. Approximately 15.7 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of $315.00, and approximately 8.6 grams of psilocybin mushrooms with a street value of $730.00 were recovered. Among stolen property recovered on the property from a burglary that had taken place earlier in the summer were a travel trailer, an ATV (4-wheeler), a snowmobile and trailer, and a ready heater.

--Both candidates for U.S. President will be in Minnesota this Friday. It was reported by President Donald J. Trump's office that the President will speak Friday afternoon in Bemidji, the office for DFL Candidate former Vice-President Joe Biden reported that he will speak in Minnesota in Friday but as of late Friday the site for that event was not released by the office.

--The Morrison County Department of Motor Vehicles wanted to remind those that you can walk-in to the DMV for services (appointments are preferred as they will get priority) but walk-ins are welcome and the wait time has been minimal. The DMV did state that there is a state delay on title transfers for a few months so be aware of that, tabs and licenses are closer to being up to date. The DMV also stated that the Real ID deadline has been extended until October 1st of 2021 and if the Governor continues to extend his emergency powers that will also mean that deadlines for expired state licneses and Real ID will also continue to be extended until a future date. Denise Vogl stated that the state has changed for Class B knowledge test that you do need to schedule an appointment for those thorugh the drive.mn.gov and clink on the link provided and the closest site to the area is in St. Cloud. To make an appointment call the DMV at 632-0115. Auditor/Treasurer Chelsey Robinson said that absentee and early voting begins on Friday and Robinson said that the number of ballots have increased considerably this year even in Morrison County and they are processing as fast as they can for early voting to begin on Friday. You will have to follow all COVID-19 guidelines for those coming in for early voting starting on Friday September 18th.

--A St. Cloud man faces assault charges after an incident in the 700 block of St. Germain Street Westl last Monday morning. Police were called to the scene after three men were hurt following an argument with 23-year-old Tyree Overton. Witnesses say the group got into an argument just after 2:00 a.m. It escalated and Overton allegedly assaulted the three men causing serious but non-life threatening injuries including broken bones and concussions. One of the victims was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment, a second victim went to the hospital the following day for treatment and the third victim received minor injuries. All three men have been treated and are recovering. Police say through witness statements they were able to identify Overton as the suspect. He was arrested Friday morning in the 700 block of 7th Street South.

TWINS= Twins get homers from Buxton and Jeffers to beat Cleveland Friday night 3-1. Buxton homers again and 4 others homer to win 8-4 over Indians Saturday. The Twins go long ball again on Sunday with homers from Donaldson, Jeffers, Cruz and Gonzalez to sweep the series wining 7-5 Sunday. Twins and White Sox open a four game series tonight starting at 6:30pm on Q92 WYRQ.
VIKINGS= Aaron Rodgers tossed for 4 touchdowns as the Green Bay Packers beat the Vikings Sunday 43-34 at U.S. Bank in the opener. The Vikings are at Indianapolis on Sunday at noon.
LYNX= Lynx finish regular season 15-8, open playoffs on Thursday.
