–The 17-year-old boy found dead on Monday afternoon shot his sister to death before shooting himself, the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday. David Cunningham and 15-year old Jessica Cunningham were found dead in their home, each with a gunshot wound. The Sheriff’s Office ruled their deaths a murder-suicide on Wednesday. According to a news release, the children’s father came home to find them. David, a student at Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City High School, was home that day and Jessica had been schooling online at home. Authorities do not know of a motive for the shooting. The Sheriff’s Office also executed a search warrant at the home, on 340th Street in Harvey Township, on Tuesday for a marijuana case authorities say does not appear related to the murder-suicide.

–A St. Cloud woman who has been charged with killing her father in January is due in a Kentucky courtroom Friday for an extradition hearing. 38-year old Lisa May Kearney is charged in Stearns County District Court with second-degree murder. She is accused of killing 66-year old Jeffrey Schilling in his home on 21st Avenue North. He was found dead January 4th, with blood splatters on the walls and ceiling and a maul propped against a nearby wall. His truck, wallet and iPad were missing. Police found the truck later that week at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. A governor’s warrant has been sent from Minnesota to Kentucky seeking to return Kearney here. The Kentucky governor’s office needs to complete a warrant as well. If Kearney fights extradition, another court hearing will be held in about 30 days. If prosecutors have governors’ warrants that are in order and show that Kearney is the person in custody and that there is a valid charge against her in another state, the Kentucky judge can order that she be returned to Minnesota to face charges here.
