--Brainerd firefighters were called to a house fire Tuesday just after 5:00pm on the 1800 block of Pine Street. Smoke was coming from the front of the home when they arrived. The fire appeared to have started in the kitchen. The home owned by Jason Wickham sustained substantial damage to the kitchen area and heavy smoke damage inside but the outside structure of the home had little fire damage. Wickham said he was sound asleep when he heard the smoke alarm and he and his dog were able to escape outside a window. There were no injuries. A damage estimate has not been completed.

--A St. Cloud man has been charged with three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl late last year. 23-year old Luis Enrique Arreguin was arrested and booked for investigation of sexual assault in November but wasn't formally charged until last week. His first court appearance on the sex assault charges is scheduled for November 7th.

--Triad of Crow Wing County invites all seniors to a winter driving safety course on Tuesday, October 18th at 10am at the Land Services Building in Brainerd. There will be a build your own winter car safety kit to take home and refreshments. To register contact the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office at 218-829-4749.

--On Monday, M.J. Nelson of the USA (Upsala/Swanville Area) Community Chorus, Father Mike Kellogg and Dr. Craig Jessup spoke on Little Falls Radio about the three-day choral music retreat at Camp Ripley this Friday, Saturday and Sunday for high school, college and adult singers. The principal teaching artist for this event is Dr. Craig D. Jessop, Dean, Caine College of the Arts, Utah State University and the former director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir as well as two United States Air Force Bands and the USAF "Singing Sergeants." Singers will spend most of three days in total immersion in the choral arts with Dr. Jessop along with break-out sectionals with Dr. Matthew Ferrell, Director of Choral Activities at St. Cloud State University, Dr. Thomas Speckhard, member of the music faculty at St. John's University and the College of St. Benedict, Maureen Putnam, former USAF "Singing Sergeant" and a former member of the music faculty at SJU/CSB and Jody Martinson, artistic director, Minnesota Center Chorale. Also as part of the retreat, Dr. Jessop will conduct a master class on Friday for choral directors. This master class carries continuing education credit and is offered at no charge. There will also be a seminar on how music heals including the healing of music from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The free concert is Saturday night 7:30pm at the Camp Ripley Recreation Center, and ID is needed to enter camp. There will be a special Sunday morning service with music at Camp Ripley but tickets (though free) are needed as the chapel as limited seating for the Sunday service. --A Randall man has been charged after an investigation of a burglary at an area church. On September 28th Little Falls Police received a report of a burglary at Faith Alliance Church in Little Falls. A suspect forced entry into the church by breaking out a window. Several items were reported stolen including a projector and PA system. A search warrant was conducted at 24-year old Robert Sowada’s residence in Randall. Investigators located the items that were reported taken from the church. Sowada was not located at that time. On October 6th, Robert Sowada was located at his residence and taken into custody. The Morrison County Attorney’s Office has charged Sowada with 2nd Degree Burglary and Receiving Stolen Property.

--Patty and Jerry Wetterling met with media for the first time Tuesday after the findings of their son Jacob, who was abducted in 1989 near his home in St. Joseph. Patty stated their beliefs and feeling toward Danny Heinreich who admitted for a plea agreement kidnapping, sexually assaulting and killing Jacob in 1989. Heinrich for the deal, pleaded guilty to one count of child porngraphy charges after a number of items were found related to child pornography in his Annandale residence. Heinreich will be sentenced in federal court in Minneapolis November 21st. The Wetterling's stated one thing they are so appreciative of is the support of their cause and Jacob's cause in finding missing children. The Wetterling's became advocates in protecting children attempting to stop abductions so other families will not feel the pain and suffering they had to.

--Little Falls Community High School will host parent teacher conferences on Monday from 3:45-7:45pm in the high school commons. Parents and guardians of students are encouraged to attend to learn more about their student's progress.

--The Third Annual Kiwanis Trivia Night is tonight at Great River Arts in Little Falls. Proceeds go to Junior Achievement of Morrison County which works with all the school districts in Morrison County. The event is 7-9pm at Great River Arts.
