--Little Falls Homecoming is Friday night against New London Spicer. Monday night Little Falls crowned King and Queen for homecoming as Brandon Yorek and Melissa Geisenhoff. A homecoming parade starts at 2:00pm Friday and a tail gate party will be from 5:00-7:00pm in the middle school parking lot. Pierz is hosting their homecoming against Paynesville on October 7th. The coronation for Pierz is Monday at 2:45pm in the Mac. The top Queen candidates are Rebecca Athman, Beth Saehr, Kaitlyn Kampa, Kacy Broschofsky and Leah Fuhrman. The top King candidates are Brett Kapsner, Adam Kroll, Derick Hall, Logan Lease and Lane Girtz. Royalton also hosts homecoming next week October 7th against USA.

--A free nitrate clinic will be held next week October 3rd- 7th at Morrison County Soil and Water Conservation District. Samples can be brought in clean 2-3 ouce ziplock bags. Testing is immediate and a quick questionnaire on well construction is voluntary. The Minnesota Department of Health recommends having nitrates checked annually. The Soil and Water office is located in the Ag Service Center on the north side of Little Falls just off County Road 46. For information call Morrison County Soil and Water at 616-2479.

--Leaders and Soldiers of the Minnesota National Guard will be inducted into the Court of Honor on Camp Ripley this Sunday. The ceremony will take place at 1:00pm in the General John W. Vessey Recreation Center, where members of the Memorialization Board will be joined by family, friends, colleagues and fellow Service-members of 19 Minnesota National Guardsmen. Five leaders from the Minnesota National Guard will be inducted this year in honor of their distinguished careers to the military service and the community. They will be joined by fourteen Soldiers who died while deployed as a part of the Minnesota National Guard since September 11th, 2001. This will be the first time since its establishment in 1933 that personnel killed in action will be inducted in the Court of Honor. --The Royalton Lions Club, Federation of Teachers and Royalton Community Education invites all to a Meet the Candidates Forum at 7:00pm on Monday, October 10th at the Royalton High School/Middle School Commons. Candidates that have been invited are from Royalton School Board, Royalton City Council, Minnesota Senate District 9 and Minnesota State House District 9B. --The 3rd annual Zoo Fest at Pine Grove Zoo is from 11:00am-3:00pm this Saturday at the Zoo on the west side of Little Falls.

--The Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce announced that there will be a candidate forum for the candidates vying for Morrison County Commissioner in District 1 on October 14th at 9:00am at the Randall Community Center. For information call 632-5155.

--Waite Park Police are asking for your help in finding a man who allegedly threatened restaurant employees. The incident happened on Friday at about 11:00pm at the McDonald’s in the 200 block of 2nd Street South. Waite Park Police say a man entered the building and was upset because he did not receive enough napkins with his food order. He threatened the employees. Waite Park Police say he threatened employees verbally with violence. The man is described as white, in his 40’s with blonde hair tied up in a pony tail. He was wearing a green flannel shirt and is believed to be driving a white four door vehicle. Anyone with information to identify the man should contact Waite Park Police at 320-251-3281.

--One person was injured Monday after a crane tipped over at a construction site. Police, fire and Gold Cross Ambulance were called to a construction site located at 1500 Highway 23 in Waite Park on reports that a crane tipped over with the operator in it. The crane had been moving a light pole when it tipped over. The operator received a head injury, but was conscious and responsive. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital. Police did not release his name.

--The Minnesota State Patrol identified the driver killed in a crash on Tuesday on U.S. Highway 10 as 84-year-old Rose Wipper, of Clear Lake. The collision occurred shortly before 1:30pm at the crossroads of Highway 10 and Sherburne County Road 65. A car driven by Wipper was westbound on County Road 65 when it was struck on the driver's side door by a northbound pickup on Highway 10. The car was pushed through the median, stopping in the eastbound ditch. The driver of the pickup 53-year old Joel Saldana of Rice suffered non life threatening injuries.

--A northeast St. Cloud house was occupied when it was hit by bullets that appeared to be from a handgun at about 8:30pm Tuesday, but no one was injured. Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 600 block of Fifth Avenue Northeast at 8:24pm and discovered that multiple rounds from a caliber consistent with a handgun hit the alley side of the house. Officers canvassed the neighborhood, and learned two men were seen running north in the alley immediately after the shots were heard. The shooting is not believed to be random. Anyone with information is asked to contact the St. Cloud Police Department or Tri County Crime Stoppers.
