NEWS
--Live Better Live Longer is in need of volunteers for the Dam Festival/Falls Festival on Foot event this Saturday. This includes event set up prior to the Dam Festival parade, 2-4 people willing to ride a bicycle surrey in the parade, also helping with diaper derby, hula hoop contest and other afternoon events on 1st Street from 12:00-4:00pm and take down after 4:00pm. The Dam Festival Medallion Hunt kicked off yesterday. Another Clue for the Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union hunt will be heard at 8:25am today on Little Falls Radio. When found the winner gets $500.

--A 24-year-old man was stabbed Friday and is in critical condition after an altercation in Brainerd. Police stated that around 10:45pm Friday they were called to a bar on Laurel Street. When authorities arrived they found the victim stabbed in the abdomen. He was taken to an area hospital then flown to the Twin Cities in critical condition. Witnesses reported a man running from the scene and he was later apprehended and identified as 44-year-old Troy Stalboerger of Brainerd. He is currently in the Crow Wing County jail and faces charges of 1st and 2nd degree felony assault with a deadly weapon.

--One person was injured Saturday afternoon on Highway 15 in Stearns County in a three vehicle accident. 24-year-old Ashlyn Baer of Buffalo was southbound on 15 when she rear-ended a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Natalie Beyer of St. Cloud which then caused that vehicle to collide with 38-year-old Erin Cheney of Little Falls. Cheney and Beyer were not hurt. Baer sustained injuries that caused her to be taken by ambulance to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment.

--Stearns County responded to an ATV accident Saturday around noon on County Road 71 in Wakefield Township south of Richmond. Authorities say that a juvenile female was found to have a broken leg. Three other juveniles were reportedly on the ATV with the girl at the time. Authorities said that the four were on an ATV in an open field when it flipped on its side. The girl, 15-year old Syndy Tamble of Richmond was trapped underneath the ATV which was pulled off of her by the other occupants. She was taken to the hospital with her injuries. Two others were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

--Crow Wing County responded to an ATV accident Wednesday afternoon on County Road 22 when 73-year-old Jerry Dosh struck a rock on his property causing him to leave the ATV and strike his head. He was treated for a head laceration by first responders.

--Douglas County identified a man who drowned over the weekend on Lake Miltona. Authorities say 55-year-old Scott Gagner of Miltona went overboard on the west side of the lake Saturday afternoon and never resurfaced. His body was recovered in over 6 feet of water.

--Stearns County responded to an accident with injuries near Opole on Sunday morning before 1:00am. A vehicle rolled on County Road 3. Holdingford first responders said that the lone occupant was Jerome Kapus and taken to the hospital for reportedly minor injuries.

--The first Motley June Fest is this Thursday through Sunday. Events include a parade Saturday 10:00am, pig races that afternoon, music, food, fireworks and more. --Gunner Boser and Peter Beam who recently completed their senior year at Little Falls Community High School won the Muskie Inc. High School Regional Tournament on Lake Alexander on Friday afternoon. Both Peter Beam and Gunner Boser will compete in the state tournament on Lake Vermillion on Friday, June 24th.

--The Minnesota National Guard will host over 100 members of the Norwegian Home Guard as part of a reciprocal troop exchange at Camp Ripley June 17th through the 29th. The exchange, which is in its 43rd consecutive year, reinforces the positive working relationships between allied services as well as highlighting the strong lineage many Minnesotans share with the Scandinavian culture. This is the second summer visit since the inception of the exchange program.

--A man was struck by lightning Sunday morning while fishing on Baby Lake in rural Hackensack. The Cass County Sheriff's office was notified of the lightning strike at 10:38am. When responders and medical personnel arrived they found three adult males were fishing in a boat and one was struck by lightning. The male was transported via North Air Care to a Twin Cities hospital and two adult males were taken by North Memorial Ambulance to Essentia Health-St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.

--Authorities in Cass County have located a woman from Motley who was reported as missing. On Sunday night the Cass County Sheriff's Office requested help from the public in finding 22-year-old Marissa Fall, who had been reported by her family as missing. Around 6:00am Monday, the sheriff's office said she was found safe. No information on where Marissa Fall was, or on the circumstances of her disappearance were released by the sheriff's office.

--Today is Flag Day. It was June 14, 1777 that the Continental Congress adopted a resolution for the current red white blue format of the flag of the United States. A star would be added for each state.

NHL= Pittsburgh wins Stanley Cup Sunday 4 to 2 over San Jose.
NBA= Cleveland wins last night but Golden State leads 3-2 in series.
