The 64-year old was sentenced to death in 2006 for the kidnapping, rape and murder of Sjodin, who was orginially of Pequot Lakes and a University of North Dakota student, in 2003 taking her from a Grand Forks mall. Her body was found in Crookston. Rodriguez has been on death row for over 11 years and has had a number of new lawyers working on his appeal over the years.
