--The Little Falls Community High School in a statement to the community Monday said that the 2021 Day of Caring was a complete success. In total, teams visited 169 residential sites and 4 city sites. 1008 Volunteers--601 students, 61 team leaders, 51 additional high school staff, and 295 community volunteers--were out and about with rakes in hand. This day is a perfect example of Flyer Pride! Thanks again to our community sponsors and everyone who helped to make this day a success. The 2022 Day of Caring is already being put in the works for May 4th, 2022 stay tuned.

--Waite Park police are asking for your help in finding three men tied to an attempted robbery. The incident happened around 11:30pm Sunday in the 1400 block of 7th Street South. Authorities says the victim, a 23-year-old woman, had just pulled into a parking lot and was getting out of her vehicle when she was confronted by three men. The victim told police one man approached her on the driver's side and showed a gun, while a second man opened the passenger side door and put a gun against her back. She says one of the men told her to hand over her money. The victim told the men to get away and started screaming for help. One of the men then hit her in the face with a gun. As the victim was screaming for help, a nearby resident opened their window and asked her if she needed help, at which time the suspects fled the scene on foot. Officers responded to the area but were unable to find the suspects. The suspects are described as: Suspect 1 - Somali man in his early-mid 20's, clear skin, brown eyes, wearing dark khaki joggers, hat, red bandana: Suspect 2 is a Somali man in his early-mid 20's with a black hoodie: Suspect 3 - Somail man in his early-mid 20's, green eyes, black bandana and a black winter hat. Police say just before the call came in, officers received another call from a resident who says they saw four Somali men in the parking lot, who they believed were attempting to break into cars. Anyone with information is asked to Waite Park police or Tri-County Crime Stoppers.

--Authorities are searching for the suspect who allegedly cut another man with a knife. The incident happened Sunday night around 9pm at 555 Park Meadows Drive in Waite Park. The victim told police the suspect had cut him in the leg with a knife and then fled the scene. The victim was then taken to the emergency room by a friend. Waite Park police say the suspect is known to authorities and the name will be released once the suspect is in custody. The victim was treated at St. Cloud hospital for his injury and released. Authorities say there is no ongoing threat or concern for the public.

--Jury selection began Monday in the trial of the man accused of shooting a St. Cloud police officer in the hand last summer. 19-year old Sumaree Deashan Boose of Waite Park, is charged in Stearns County court with one felony count of first-degree assault on a peace officer. Boose pleaded not guilty to the charge January 21st. Boose was charged following an incident where a police officer was shot in the hand during an arrest. The incident sparked false rumors of another shooting, which led a crowd to march to St. Cloud police headquarters, doing damage along the way and eventually at the police station early that morning. Jury selection to last the week.

--Morrison County Public Health is holding a vaccination clinic on Wednesday from 1-3pm at the Morrison County Government Center. You will need to register by calling 632-6664 and after receiving the first dose of the virus will be given an appointment for the second dose of the vaccine on June 9th. No walk ins, space still available.

--A Little Falls man was hurt when the motorcycle he was driving was struck from behind by a car. The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened just after 2:30pm Monday on Highway 27 at Game Farm Road in Little Falls Township. Sixty-six-year-old Craig Pooler of Little Falls was driving east when he slowed to make a left turn and was rear-ended by a car. The driver of the car was a 16-year-old girl. She was not hurt. Her name and hometown have not been released by the State Patrol. Pooler was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was wearing a helmet.

--The Department of Natural Resources continues to have a high elevated fire danger over central and eastern Minnesota today and Wednesday as low relative humidity less than 15%, Dewpoints in the teens and 20s and warm winds from the south/southwest over the next two days bringing temperatures into the 60s will keep the fire danger very high as lack of moisture remains in the forecast. The earliest chance in central Minnesota now would be PM hours Friday.

--COVID-19 numbers are continuing to be low in Morrison County. The county report Monday showed 126 active cases with 59 of those in the Little Falls Zip Code. Royalton at 18, Pierz and Swanville 10. On the State website the big story has been no new deaths reported in central Minnesota since the end of April and statewide number continue to decrease with more vaccinations now available. The CDC also stated on Monday that children ages 12-15 can get the vaccine.

MSHSL= The Minnesota State High School League will decide whether to officially sanction boys volleyball and a girls wrestling tournament when its 48-member Representative Assembly meets on Tuesday afternoon. A two-thirds majority vote is necessary for the activities to be enacted for the upcoming school year.
