--The Annual Community Thanksgiving Meal is scheduled for next Thursday (Thanksgiving) from 11:00am-1:00pm at the Little Falls Community High School commons area. A few volunteers are still needed to help at the event. Volunteer by calling Tim Sumner at 632-2540. Also any desserts (pies, cakes, bars, etc.) are needed to be dropped off that morning, Thanksgiving after 8am at the High School.

--Kinship of Morrison County hosts their Veterans Program tonight from 6-8:30pm at the Little Falls Alliance Church. The program will feature three speakers from different times in the military and their stories. The event is free to the public but RSVP is asked for to know a number for refreshments for the event tonight. Call Aaron at 632-8806 for RSVP, information on Kinship, and tonight's event.

--The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office, as well as small town municipal Police Departments within Morrison County, will be utilizing the Eastern Morrison County Sportsman Club firearms range tonight. A night time qualification shoot will be taking place from 6:00pm-12:00am. Last night was their first of two, the second is tonight.

--Authorities in Wadena County are investigating the deaths of two males who had been shot. The Sheriff’s Office says dispatchers received a 911 call to a residence in Menahga shortly after midnight Monday. The two males were found fatally shot and pronounced dead at the scene. Menahga police, sheriff’s deputies and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are investigating.

--A 25-year old Cass Lake woman with a gunshot wound died Sunday at a residence in the Cass Lake area and the suspect is in custody. Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch reports authorities responded to a report of a shooting at a residence at 8:17am. Upon arrival, deputies located the woman who had a gunshot wound to the head inside the residence. Life saving efforts were performed, but the victim died at the scene. A suspect, 24-year old Brandon Joseph Roy of Cass Lake, was taken into custody in connection with the death. Roy is currently being held in the Cass County Jail pending formal charges. The incident remains under investigation with an autopsy pending. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members. Cass County was assisted by Leech Lake Ambulance Service, Leech Lake Tribal Police, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

--A 34-year old former Brainerd man died in an all-terrain vehicle crash Nov. 6 on his property in Wright, Wyoming. Christopher Michael Despot was driving an ATV alone when he lost control. Despot was thrown from the vehicle and it rolled on top of him. Despot was dead when emergency responders arrived at the scene of the incident. An obituary reported Despot graduated from Brainerd High School and from Central Lakes College in Staples before moving to Wyoming.

--On Saturday just after 9:00am, Stearns County Sheriff Office, along with Albany Fire were dispatched to 23106 Viewcrest Road in Krain Township for a grain bin fire. The property owner, Earl Felling, checked the grain bin and drying grain, and found the bottom portion of the grain was on fire. It is believed the aerator inside the bin stopped working and the grain started burning due to the heater. No injuries were reported.

--Due to Saturday's football game for Pierz, the musical in Pierz “Beauty and the Beast” has decided to move Saturday's performance to Friday, making shows Thurs & Fri at 7pm and Sun 2pm in Pierz.

--A two-vehicle collision in northeast Brainerd Monday night shut down the eastbound lane of Washington Street where Highways 210 and 25 intersect. Emergency personnel reported that one person was airlifted from the scene. No other information was released.

--St. Cloud Police stated that a three-year old boy was shot in southeast St. Cloud Monday morning. Shortly after 11:15am they were called to the 1500 block of 15th Avenue Southeast for a report of a child bleeding. Police then received another report that the mother had brought the child to St. Cloud Hospital. The boy has non-life threatening injuries. No arrests have been made at this point, but there does not appear to be a danger to the public. Police say the case remains under investigation.

--Slick road conditions caused a crash that left two people hurt in Stearns County. The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened just after 9:30pm Friday, near the Albany exit on Interstate 94. Authorities say a car driven by 25-year old Kameron Wingenback from Bismarck, North Dakota was going east on I-94 when he lost control because of icy roads. Wingenback and his passenger, 22-year old Ashley Sitz from Bismarck, North Dakota, were taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

--Two men were injured Sunday night in a stabbing at Macy’s in the Mall of America after a theft was interrupted. The victims, whose injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, were stabbed when they confronted a 20-year old Minneapolis man who was attempting to steal items belonging to one of the victims from a fitting room. Their alleged assailant, Mahad Abdiaziz Abdirahaman, is being held on suspicion of first degree assault. According to the victim's report, the suspect, Abdirahaman entered the fitting room to steal his belongings, he confronted Abdirahaman, who stabbed him. Another man in his party responded to the victim’s cries for help and was also stabbed. The others in their party disarmed Abdirahaman and restrained him until police arrived a few minutes later.

--Little Falls High School Senior Alice Foote signed a national letter of intent to participate in Swimming at Moorhead State University. Alice recently qualified for the state swim meet in three events: 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle and the 400 Freestyle Relay. She was the Section Champion in both the 50 and 100 Freestyle. Alice is the daughter of Cecil Foote and Andrea Turner of Little Falls.
