--Around 9:00pm Sunday the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a one vehicle crash on County Road 3 by The Woods Restaurant. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that a minivan had struck a large round hay bale that was in the lane of traffic. There were a total of at least 4 large bales around the roadway. The driver, 75 year old, Gene Lafavor, of Brainerd was injured and taken by ambulance to St. Joe’s Emergency Room. The passenger, 68 year old, Sheryl Lafavor, of Brainerd was not injured. Crow Wing County Sheriff Todd Dahl is asking anyone who may have information as to who may have lost the hay bales from their trailer to contact his office at (218) 829-4749.

--Crow Wing County Sheriff Todd Dahl is releasing information regarding Level 3 Predatory Offender Thomas Richard Erickson who will move to rural Nisswa on October 31st. This individual has served the sentence imposed on him by the court, and is transitioning into the community. The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office is holding a community notification meeting on next Monday, October 17th at 6:00pm in the Nisswa City Hall. Representatives from the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota Department of Corrections will be available to provide useful information on public safety.

--DNR Conservation Officer Joyce Kuske of Little Falls with assistance from area officers hosted an ATV course and trail ride for the Camp Ripley Stand Down (Safety) Day and handled a wetland violation where the contractors failed to submit a contractor responsibility form before working in a wetland area. A TIP call of a hunter illegally party hunting is being investigated and three young duck hunters were checked and were found to have one life jacket for the three of them, one had no small game license, and one forgot to bring any licenses with him. When they went to pull the plug on the boat they pulled out a sock instead. They had forgotten to bring the boat plug and one of the hunters sacrificed his sock so they could still go hunting. --Police in Bloomington have arrested one man following a fight and stabbing at the Mall of America on Sunday. Police say the incident began around 5:30pm on the mall's eastside, third level. Police say a group of people began fighting. As a result two men were stabbed. One man was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment. The other man was taken to Fairview Southdale. Both suffered non-life threatening injuries. A 33-year-old man from Richfield was arrested on scene and charges are pending. Unlike the mall attack in St. Cloud, police stated late Sunday this was an isolated incident and escalated between those who knew each other.

--A Greenfield woman was found dead Sunday afternoon, pinned underneath an overturned riding lawn mower. Shortly before 5:00pm the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office was called to Scott Street where neighbors found the woman on her property. They told authorities they started searching for the woman after not hearing from her for several days. The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death. The woman's name and cause of death has not been released.

--A former Stearns County probation agent who had been charged with assaulting his son pleaded guilty Thursday to disorderly conduct. 55-year old Christopher Allen Schill entered an Alford plea, which means he didn't admit guilt but agreed that there was sufficient evidence that a jury could convict him of the crime. The terms of his plea agreement include that the conviction won't be entered on his record as long as he complies with the terms of probation. That includes undergoing a domestic abuse evaluation and having no same or similar offenses. The Morrison County Attorney's Office prosecuted Schill because he was an employee of Stearns County. Schill was placed on administrative leave after his arrest.

--Motorists who travel eastbound Highway 10 at Highway 24 through Clear Lake will encounter intermittent delays while the road is reduced to a single lane. All lanes of Highway 10 in Clear Lake will open by October 21st. Motorists approaching the work zone should slow down, watch for slow moving traffic and be prepared to stop if necessary. The 24-hour per day lane closure is needed while crews repair a short segment of concrete pavement immediately east of the Highway 10/Highway 24 intersection in Clear Lake. --According to the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office, the Park Rapids Area High School received a threat Monday morning while students were on buses and arriving for class. The Park Rapids school district decided to re-route buses to the Century School and the high school was placed under lockdown for security measures. Law enforcement did a security sweep of the entire school grounds. Nothing suspicious was located. The Minnesota State Patrol and Park Rapids Police Department also responded. Classes resumed before 10:00am.

--Kraft Heinz has recalled 959 pounds of ready to eat Lunchables Ham and American Cracker Stackers due to misbranding and undeclared allergens. The product contains wheat and soy, which are not declared on the product label. Items involved in the recall are 3.4-oz. boxes containing four-compartment plastic trays of “Lunchables Ham and American Cracker Stackers,”. The problem was discovered last week when the firm received a consumer complaint. There were no illnesses associated with the complaint.
