NEWS
--Governor Mark Dayton stopped in St. Cloud Monday to address the stabbing incident from Saturday night. He also talked to President Obama who addressed his concerns on the stabbing that injured ten people. Dayton stated the part time Avon officer Jason Falconer is a true hero for his actions taken in ending the incident which ended with the suspect being killed. Governor Dayton, Senators Klobuchar and Franken and many others addressed their thoughts in what is being called by the FBI as a “potential act of terrorism”. Though the extremist group ISIS stated that the suspect Dahir Adan was “their soldier”, police Monday stated they have found no connections between Adan and ISIS. St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis stated that the city of St. Cloud is resilient and will bounce back from the attack.

--Three people were critically injured Saturday when an air ambulance helicopter crashed along Lake Winona near Alexandria in Douglas County. The accident happened around 2:00am and three North Memorial crew memebers were injured and taken to a Metro Area hospital. The three crew members of the North Memorial Air Care helicopter were pilot 47-year old Joshua Jones, flight nurse 44 year old Scott Scepaniak, and flight paramedic 34-year old Miles Weske. All three remain hospitalized at North Memorial Hospital in the Twin Cities. The crew was based in Brainerd. According to a North Memorial spokeswoman the three are all still in critical condition. There were no patients on the helicopter as they were heading to Alexandria hospital to pick up a patient at the time. There was light fog in the area at the time of the crash but the National Transportation Safety Board stated they would release their findings on what they believed caused the crash in the coming days.

--Two Stearns County men made their first court appearances Friday after being accused of paying a 15-year-old boy to perform oral sex on them in a Cold Spring park. The incidents happened in May after the boy posted an ad on craigslist.com in the "Casual Encounters" section, according to a court complaint. In seperate cases, 59-year old Joseph Vincent Burton of Cold Spring and 55-year old Kenneth Neil Vilter of St. Cloud are accused of paying the boy. Both men are charged with engaging in prostitution. They made their first court appearances Friday where the judge released both men on the condition that they have no contact with anyone younger than 18 and not use computers.

--The Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting Little Falls City Council Ward 1 and 2 Candidate Forums on Wednesday, September 28th at Little Falls City Hall in the Council Chambers. Ward 2 will be from 9:00-10:00 am and Ward 1 will be from 10:30 – 11:30am. This is not a debate. This forum is being sponsored to allow candidates the opportunity to inform voters as to why they feel they would be the best person for the position. Candidates have been provided the questions prior to the event. All Chamber members and the general public are invited to attend. --A 71-year-old Brainerd man was injured Sunday when his motorcycle crashed on Highway 371 near Jenkins. The State Patrol said that Dennis Northburg braked hard on the highway causing him to be ejected from the bike and striking the pavement. Northburg was not wearing a helmet. He was treated for injuries in Brainerd.

--The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office and the Little Falls Police Department report that charges are pending against two adult males for their involvement in a burglary that originated in Mille Lacs County. On Saturday, the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office asked for assistance regarding a stolen ATV from their county. Information was passed onto the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office that the stolen ATV was dropped off at Hilmerson Sports Center, south of Little Falls, for repair work. While investigating the theft, it was discovered that a power/charger pack was stolen from Hilmerson Sports Center by the same suspects who dropped off the ATV. The stolen ATV and the power/charger pack were both located by the Little Falls Police Department, at the address of 1005 12th Street Southwest Little Falls. 25-year old Bryce Tschida and 37-year old Samuel Nicolas, both of Little Falls, were arrested and are being held in the Morrison County Jail pending formal charges. Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larsen states that this case is a great example of multiple agencies sharing information and working together, which ultimately resulted in an arrest and recovered stolen property.

--The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate a juvenile female who left placement in Willmar a week ago yesterday. She was last seen at the placement location and has been listed as a missing person since that time. It is believed that she may be in surroundings that endanger her health, safety or welfare. Alexis Odenbreit is 5' 4” inches tall, weighs approximately 118 pounds, and has hazel eyes. She has brunette hair or it may be dyed slightly reddish. She has a double piercing above her right eye and numerous tattoos on wrists and hands. If you have any information on the juvenile’s whereabouts please contact the Stearns County Sheriff Office.

--One person was injured Monday afternoon in a single vehicle rollover. At 1:16pm the collission occurred at Minnesota Highway 23 and Interstate Highway 94. A vehicle driven by 25-year old Ryan Walker of St. Cloud, was westbound on Highway 23 north of I-94. The vehicle started to pull toward the median and the driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll. Walker suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

SPORTS
AP= Adrian Peterson suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee during Sunday 17-14 win over Green Bay. The running back's injury will continue to be monitored during the week. If Peterson has surgery on the injury, he could miss 2-4 weeks. However, Peterson has not been ruled out for Sunday when the Vikings travel to Carolina as Coach Zimmer says since Sunday he has shown improvement.
